His character Hopper is a classic case of Hollywood synchronicity.

He started off as a slacker and ended up getting the Navy Cross for heroism.

When we met him for the first time he was making a wish on his birthday cake to make out with the admirals daughter.

The girl was moaning about the bar not serving chicken barritos so Hopper decided to crash through the ceiling of a convenience store.

He ended up getting chased by cops and before he gave the girl the microwaved burrito he got tasered.

His navy flatmate had enough of his slacking ways so he was ordered to enrol in the navy.

The day before they beamed this signal onto this exoplanet.

Six years later in the midst of naval exercises Hopper was about to be kicked out of the service.

But in the initial attacks by the aliens he was forced to take charge of the only ship within the force field.

His leadership qualities were so good he ended up commandeering the USS Missouri with the help of Dad's Army.

And this final gambit worked.

Btw the way the alien projectiles that were attached to the ships do look like the pegs in the game.

Believe it or not Rihanna wasn't the true eye candy.

the movie is almost as bad as battle la

You reckon they are both dire.

Tbh the original game shouldn't make a template for the navies.

And can you can imagine the implications if there was a loaded dice.

It's a good thing it's not either but the film is also patchy in bits.

The aliens had the right idea about quarantining the Hawaiii islands with it's military importance.

It's just that Hopper executed their plan better with their rag- tag army despite their shaky start.

The aliens should have been better suited invading the Earth all over the shop.

In the end their whole plan of calling up reinforcements from our own radio telescopes was flawed.

Despite the punch they packed.

Served on USS Missouri, had to suspend my disbelief a lot. But it was a fun ride after I did.
