docyabut2 Posted January 17, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) I do believe some of these utube vidios are hoaxs, in light of all the reports of sounds people are now hearing, however there is truth in some because I hear them myself. One explaination by a friend says they could be sand dunes http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/earth/booming-sands.html Edited January 17, 2012 by docyabut2
Time Turner Posted January 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Whatever the explanation is behind these odd noises, natural or not, they leave me with an unsettling feeling. I don't know why, but I've always had an aversion to deep bass noises, alarm sounds (like the ones in the Silent Hill and War of the Worlds films), and sounds similar to the ones recorded in the video. Mentalcase Posted January 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Could be wind passing through a cave system. I've heard similar sounds before.
dice401 Posted January 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2012 These odd noises were heard in my city too just a couple days after the one in Conklin. Several people I know heard it and someone posted a vid on youtube so others can hear it too. Also there is a vid from The Pas, Manitoba, Canada that has a similar sound as well - the dog in the video was acting weird from it to. Like Time Turner, I get a unsettling feeling as well about these noises.
randym23 Posted January 20, 2012 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2012 I don't want to sound too kooky but could this be related to HAARP? I don't know what that equipment does but it does use a lot of energy and that must result in some effects, why not sonic ones?
JGirl Posted January 20, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2012 well, it is strange, but it doesn't seem to be scaring the birds so i doubt it is anything to bother worrying about. obviously the wildlife in the area isn't concerned with it.
