They don't, except in their own mind. Even the, it wouldn't help them very much in a global conflict given the logistics it would require.

It would, just like many other states would be.

The question is not really one of defense, as why would anybody think that the West would attack Iran. And this is where it bites its own tail. Iran is know for (provably so) supporting terrorist organizations and siphoning weapons to organizations perpetrating killings of people opposing their theocracy. What would hinder them in adding a few nukes to that explosives supply? That is the real fear. We are talking about people that are not acting rationally - or at least appearing to be so.

And the Iranian oil is not that important.

Hi,I agree with you 100%,the only reason the Camel Jockeys are important to other countries is that thet are sitting on "black gold".The west went in and helped them to produce it and now a few mad mullas are upping the stakes,but I suspect that a country near them will one day lose patience and turn them into glass,then the fertilizer will hit the windmill..cheers,Spud the MACKEM
