Exploding dinosaur myth burst by scientists

Faced with the mystery of dinosaur skeletons which were fossilised in pristine shape but with the bones of their unborn offspring strewn in all directions, scientists could come to only one conclusion: the mothers must have exploded.

A build-up of gas in the adults' bodies as they decomposed could have built up to such a pressure that they burst open, causing their embryos and organs to fly out in all directions, it was widely claimed.

But now the "exploding dinosaur" theory, which became the most widely accepted answer to the prehistoric puzzle, has been debunked by Swiss scientists who demonstrated that the animals could not have acted as "natural explosive charges".

I hate when articles dumb down science. Ichthyosaurs were not dinosaurs, they were ichthyosaurs. It seems like any fossil reported about that isn't obviously a mammoth or human is written off as a dinosaur.

Ok. Let me sum it up.

We blow up dead whales;

There is a topic about exploding pigs;

And now a theory about dinosaurs exploding.

I can immagine scientists concluding on that around a table while sipping a cup of coffee. Hahaha!

I hope we will never hear that in a hospital though. God...
