How stupid. If you can't get in trouble for saying it then you should not get in trouble for typing it. Too much of this kind of repression from the IK IMHO.

The difference between saying something on Twitter, and driving up and down the high street broadcasting your offensive comment through a loudhailer, is that in the latter case very few people would hear it ..... ;)

Anything you say (or write) in public is in the public domain and may be subject to libel, slander and other laws regarding defamation, as well as incitement, racism, public order etc.

Twitter is NOT a private conversation.

Yes,but since when is the c word,slander ?

If he tweeted the guy has sex with prostitute homosexual badgers, while wearing an Adam Ant costume, and he's into bondage ,that's slander.

The c word,.....well that's rather subjective,and impossible ,given he's a man,and they don't live independantly of women.

To go to jail for that is basically proof the govt is now a fascist dictatorship ?

This would mean the queen should have jailed the sex pistols, decades ago,for putting her in a song ....

Just sayin....

It wouldn't be the word alone, but the context under which it was used as well.

Nonetheless, in Britain at least, the Middle English word for vagina is considered the most offensive and unacceptable of all words, whatever the context. It's not something you should use lightly in public.

This. We must be careful on social networks, times are changing fast.

While I would not perhaps choose that choice of words, it is a definite fact (not an opinion) that our local councillors round here are arrogant, egotistical and incompetent idiots. Is that permitted under the modern totalitarian regime?
