Mistydawn Posted May 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2012 I couldn’t protect you from the pain As you couldn’t protect me either. My memories of you are of sunshine, Licks and benign little looks of love Or if not love, kindness And of play. You weren’t mine Your were his But together we wiled away Many a day In parkland, in dusty rooms And snuggled on the settee You pined for him As I pined for his love for you I remember you as you were Proud, regal, beautiful Intelligent and loyal Faithful and true Sandy we called you Though Golden was on the Certificate Golden and shining in my memory Sandy and soft you were in truth I still miss you And always will. .

Very touching and beautiful. I have fond, loving and yes painful (because they are gone) memories of a couple of dogs I loved very much when very young. +and-then Posted May 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2012 The pain does mellow over time. The love never dims. And silly as it may be, I hope to see them again some day.
