Men In Black 3 offends Chinese government

Men In Black 3 stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones do battle with 'aliens' in a Chinatown restaurant in one of the many scenes deleted from the Chinese version of the film.

All in all censors in Beijing cut the latest Hollywood blockbuster, Men in Black 3, by 13 minutes to remove all Chinese baddies from the film.

The makers of the film might not have realised that setting parts of the movie in New York's Chinatown would cause offence on the other side of the world.

But the Chinese government apparently saw plenty of political resonance in one scene where Will Smith, playing a US secret agent, erases the memories of a group of Chinese bystanders.

Yeah, that was probably to close to the truth of what they engage in.

Man. If I lived in China, I would be sick of the Chinese government always banning and censoring everything.

This, they are offended by? But what about copywrite violation? Nope, that they are okay with.

Their government is truly riding a tiger. The great success of "capitalism" there has made them far more wealthy and influential in the world but created a population that will never be satisfied with 3rd world status again. An OWS there would make Tiananmen Square look like a barfight I think.
