Biden blasts Romney’s Bain bailout

The day after the close of the 2012 Republican National Convention, Vice President Joe Biden came out swinging at inaccuracies in a speech given by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and calling Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney to account for pressuring the government to bail out help his former private equity firm Bain & Company. Read More

He thought Bain should be bailed out but not the automakers.

“You know, he is absolutely against the federal government or any government using funds to save jobs, to save industries,” Biden said Friday, speaking to a group of auto workers in Lordstown, Ohio. “It’s bad business, he says. Except when it comes to his business.”

How do you say hypocrite?

Earlier in the speech he also corrected Romney’s running mate, Rep. Ryan, who said during his RNC speech that a General Motors plant in his hometown closed down because of President Obama’s policies.

“But what he didn’t tell you was that plant in Janesville actually closed while President Bush was still in office,” Biden said.

Can't rewrite history to suit your own agenda.

One other interesting thing : Bain and Romney was in the business of taking other people's money and using it to buy companies in order to run them. Think about that... Romney took money other people had given him and used it to buy companies.

And Romney thought that the govt using tax dollars to bail out GM was the single most horrid idea in the history of man. Except, to be honest, that is the business model Romney used for years...

Didn't Romney claim the GM bailout was his idea, too?

Yes he did.

Romney also, in the 2008 primaries, said he would not enter Pakistan to find Bin Laden.

So... under Romney GM would be dead and Bin Laden would be alive. And the GOP pushes that as a good thing...

What gets me is that people will listen to this and believe it.

I have basically unplugged from the morass. I will hold my nose and vote Romney in November because I honestly believe Obama is about to push us over the cliff economically. His only answer for 4 years has been to continue throwing money at the problem even though it cannot be proven to have helped. If the Fed goes into QE3 then the value of our dollars has GOT to crater soon. The pendulum may swing back in 2016 or things may be so bad economically that it doesn't even matter who's sitting in the chairs when the music stops.

Q: Why does Biden say so many stupid things?

A: Because Obama's people hand Biden his talking point to test the water and see how people react. If Biden sounds like a fool, it is of no consequence to the party, he is politically expendable.
