Victorian artist gave his ex the brush off

Still Waters

What's the best way to erase an ex-lover from your life?

As Victorian artist William Holman Hunt found, painting over her is a good start.

His portrait of this pre-Raphaelite beauty (main picture) did not always feature the steady gaze of this striking woman with dramatic brows and a tumble of auburn curls.

I see it as his inability to let her go for she remains in the base of the paintining. A valiant effort in either case to betray his own love for her but I do think it failed.

Watch this . Those guys were all,if you will pardon the expression, all man whores .

Their models were like groupies, and they were like rockstars .

Any girl they wanted to seduce ,they asked to model for them .It was part painting, part sex fest.

Seriously .Watch the mini series .

Dozens of women ,before they got married. Some of them ,much worse than others .

Painting over the last one was their version of tattooing over the exs name on your bicep.
