rashore Posted September 13, 2012 #103 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Just making a general few comments, and I'm generally either a solo or couple practitioner with some group interactions.... Basic circle casting. Well, for me it's either an instant thing, or a lengthier ritual thing. Instant usually is as simple as mental imaging or turning around in a circle with intent. Rituals involve much more materials and involvement. But in a very basic sense, I set up the four cardinal points, usually with candles in dishes representing the elements. Then I make circles from one point to the next, usually multiple times doing different things each time. When I cast a circle, I go deosil, when I take down a circle I go widdershins. As an aside- my love and I tried a spiral circle for the first time last Halloween, and we liked it. It's a bit different from what we usually do with basic circle casting. But we both agreed in the future if we do that again, it will have to be for an outdoor celebration- it was a bit cramped in the kitchen around our table to be doing much spiraling Binding. There are different sorts of binding. There is of course the binding of one person to another, like weddings or birth blessings. And other person to person bindings, like love spells gone awry. It's a direct and full tying together of two or more. Like a piece of yarn wrapped around two hands, binding them together. There is the binding of a person or thing, to prevent them from doing harm or stop from doing something. Though not exactly a direct tying together, it does leave a connection thread between the binder and the bound. A sort of fingerprint of contact. Like a piece of yarn wrapped around one hand, a piece of yarn between one hand and the other, and then the other hand wrapped in yarn too. Then there is broken binding. It's binding two things separately and having no thread between. For when one is ready to let go or needs to set aside someone or something. Or you want to encourage another to do the same. Like if you are ready to let a relationship go or bury the hatchet with someone, wrap it up and set it aside. Like winding yarn up on each hand and then cutting the thread in between the hands, then taking the yard off the hands and putting them away. Shamanism... I can't teach squat, but a person I have really learned a lot from is Seeker79.
Grandpa Greenman Posted September 14, 2012 #104 Share Posted September 14, 2012 What Holidays does everyone do? My year starts with Samhain Nov 1, Yule Dec 21, Imbolc Feb 2, Ostara Mar 21, Beltane May 1, Midsummer or Litha Jun 21, Lughnassad Aug 2, Mabon Sept 21. This Site explains the holidays pretty well. http://www.circlesanctuary.org/pholidays/ I have gotten where I don't even celebrate the Christian holidays anymore. Samhain is my favorite. The Holidays are divided in to quarter and cross quarter. The quarter holidays are the Solstices and Equinoxes, the cross quarters are those half way between and they are considered the high holy days.
Simbi Laveau Posted September 14, 2012 Author #105 Share Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) I do samhain on Oct 31 .We do a kick ass dumb supper .Then Nov 1 all saints day,Yule ,maypole/beltane . I do the moon festival in august and Sept,in lieu of a wiccan holiday . I celebrate the voodoo holiday of high john on June 23 . Then Oshun ,yemeya and oya,on Sept 8,7 and Feb 2 . If I'm up to it,I do other orisha days . In July I do Obon . And I observe Ganesha Chanthuri ,which changes by date each year . It's next week actually . I do certain saints days ,from old family practices . Not always, but when I'm feeling nostalgic . rashore Posted September 15, 2012 #106 Share Posted September 15, 2012 I love the holidays We usually celebrate the basic 8 to different extents, there's always food involved We also celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July. Sometimes Memorial day and Labor day. Birthdays. We both also celebrate some other holidays or observations that are more personal, and have a small general altar set up in our bedroom to burn incense or do whatever the occasion calls for. Kind of a prayer altar.
karmakazi Posted September 17, 2012 #107 Share Posted September 17, 2012 I haven't celebrated holidays for years, I swore off Christmas (other than going to my family's parties) because the consumerism part of it really got to me for a while there. I do however have more "fluid" days where I happen to spend it in a celebratory way, for no other reason than I woke up and felt like that was the kind of day it was. However, Halloween /Samhain is my favorite and even if I don't do anything myself for the holiday I do enjoy it I think I honestly enjoy the whole month of October just because I like that time of year so much.
Simbi Laveau Posted September 17, 2012 Author #108 Share Posted September 17, 2012 http://www.journeymart.com/holidays-ideas/festivals/ganesh-chaturthi.aspx Hi everyone .I just wanted to post about Ganesh Chaturthi . This year it falls on Sept 19th . That's this Wednesday . It is the celebration of the birth of the great Ganesh . If anyone has an ashram near them (ashram is an Indian temple) ,you might want to go by,and see if there are any celebrations going on this Wednesday. The ashram by me,is actually dedicated to Lord Ganesh ,so its a huge deal there ,for days. They have a statue of him ,that is only out on Chaturthi ,and its life size, and diamond encrusted .real diamonds. It's absolutely breath taking. They do pujas the entire ten days (pujas are blessings),and give out free vegetarian food,to all comers, that is delicious ! Theres music and mantras ,and special prayer rooms for paritioners . I am usually one of the only white people that goes . I mean Its packed, and you may see 1-2 non hindus ,in a 2 hour time frame. I get odd looks, but I dont care. Its an awesome experience . I highly recommend it.

Simbi Laveau Posted September 18, 2012 Author #115 Share Posted September 18, 2012 That is some lovely stuff Thanks for sharing the link! Isn't it ...its very time intensive, and he uses no glues. It's all done with sacred geometry in the wire wraps. If you look at other wraps, the difference is very dramatic . I've had my pendant for over five years, and its as good as new . I think its quite affordable . I wanted him to make me a custom pendant, with modlavite, phenacite, petalite, and lek-lai. I have a piece of leklai ,and many raw moldavites and phenacite . Leklai is kind of heavy though,so I changed my mind . Leklai is revered by Thai Buddhists mostly ,and practitioners of Thai magick,Leeak. I do know some Chinese Buddhists that have pieces though. My piece is small, and from Thailand . Leklai, allegedly comes from left over magick and deep meditative vibrations ,that have, well condensed ,for lack of a better term . The stuff does change shape and size .Its quite ,interesting.... Something told me It shouldnt be a pendant though .
monk 56 Posted September 18, 2012 #116 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Hi Simbi, Sacred Geometry is visual mathematic, please don't think i'm being patronizing if i say don't get involved in number crunching, but numbers can be shown on graphs that are visual, i'm going to start slowly with how the universe uses sacred geometry, one of the basic shapes in this is called the Vesica Piscis, link below:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vesica_piscis To see it in the universe, the Hourglass Nebula is a good example, link below:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hourglass_Nebula It is good that you are an astrologer for you know that "Retrograde" motion of the planets is an optical illusion, where planets appear on Earth to make loops in orbit, a good example would be Venus that appears to show a pentacle, rose or heart during a eight year cycle, link below:- http://www.skyscript.co.uk/venusrose.html The Universe is apt to make a shape called a Logarithmic Spiral, as shown below with the Nautilus shell, weather patterns and Spiral Galaxies, link below:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logarithmic_spiral This can also be called the Golden Spiral or the Fibonacci Series, which is just creating a graph by number crunching, very similiar to Sacred Geometry, link below:- http://library.thinkquest.org/27890/goldenRatio3.html?tql-iframe Now if we connect the Golden Spiral to it's mirror image we get a shape that looks like an Apple or a cardioid in geometry, picture on link below:- http://2012forum.com/forum/download/file.php?id=4647&mode=view Are you following me so far, please ask questions, as i follow through with threads you will see that this apple or heart shape is crucial to getting to a master key shape, that all other shapes will fit into like a glove!
monk 56 Posted September 18, 2012 #117 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Hi Simbi, The link you left about Aether Circuits.com will give you a clue with the word Aether, so now we have to go back to Plato and Platonic Solids, however Plato didn't invent them, as they appeared long before him, please scroll down to "HISTORY" on link below, and read third paragraph that mentions the fifth Platonic Solid, that he thought the Dodecahedron was "The god used for arranging the heavens, Aristotle added that this was the "The Fifth Element or AETHER". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platonic_solid A good book to get hold of would be Mario Livio, The Golden Ratio: The Story of Phi, the World's most astonishing Number, links below:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Livio If you scroll down link below to the "Golden Ratio" it will tell you about the book:- http://www.mariolivio.com/more-books-by-mario-livio/ So i'm saying that there is proof that god, or gods exists by math! In nature we have a number of shapes that confirm intelligence in the Cosmos! Leonardo da Vinci had the right idea, link below:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitruvian_Man So my journey now is going to the Mandelbrot Set and the "Thumbprint of God" and fractals, can you see that "Apple Cardioid shape????" Link below:- http://www.misterx.ca/Mandelbrot_Set---Thumb_Print_of_God.html Other links to Mandlebrot set below:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbrot_set http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mandel_zoom_00_mandelbrot_set.jpg I'll leave this section with a video about the Divine Proportion and Phi, link below:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sERcM9o25g&feature-related
monk 56 Posted September 18, 2012 #118 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Hi Simbi, I know this is heavy stuff, so as a break, i thought i would show an astrology visual joke, i don't know if you use Chiron in your charts, but you must know of it, being a comet like a planetoid that was discovered in 1977, astrologers give it the myth of "The wounded Healer", link below:- http://www.astrologycom.com/chiron.html Now if you were on Chiron watching the orbit pattern of Uranus by retrograde motion, you could plot this on a graph, and it gives a very funny shape although slightly rude so forgive me! I have a caption to picture of orbit on link below, it is very funny and always makes me giggle!! "Hard Working Chiron has "piles" of healing to do for poor old Uranus, what a pain in the BUTT!!! http://2012forum.com/forum/download/file.php?id=4635&mode=view Below can be found other information on the orbit pattern of Venus, forget the Lucifer reference:- http://pentaclepower.com/pentagram.html http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100413060634AAgKaPz Link below to Golden Ratio discovered in a quantum world:- http://esciencenews.com/articles/2010/01/07/golden.ratio.discovered.a.quantum.world On the next thread section i will show how Phi, Pentagons, Pentacles, Dodecahedron, Golden Rectangle, Golden Spiral and Mandelbrot set fit into one master key shape.
monk 56 Posted September 18, 2012 #119 Share Posted September 18, 2012 (edited) Hi Simbi, Getting near the end now, one link below that is interesting:- Now the Mandelbrot Set is basically a Cardioid with a small circle on the outside, but in sacred Geometry i have to show this on the inside as a CARDIOID ENVELOPE, please scroll down link to second diagram:- http://mathworld.wol...m/Cardioid.html However it must have the right number of swirling circles that cross the inner circle at ten points, larger pictures are below:- http://2012forum.com...=4638&mode=view http://2012forum.com...=4646&mode=view Once you can fit 2 opposite pentagons in diagram, the 3D dodecahedron will appear in centre, link below:- http://2012forum.com...=4648&mode=view Thus all fractal shapes fit into master key shape being an Envelope Cardioid as shown below, which is a probable Heart Chakra, this is fascinating! http://2012forum.com...=4652&mode=view Any Questions?
