None of the above Posted September 19, 2012 Author #27 Share Posted September 19, 2012 This one is from a band called Klaatu which briefly became famous due to a rumor that they were really the Beatles using another name... This song is one of the very first songs to use a synthesized voice... Little Neutrino (film clips from Stephen Hawkins documentary "Into The Universe") Another new one on me. Wow! I really enjoyed that one. thanks for sharing

Taun Posted September 19, 2012 #30 Share Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) Another new one on me. Wow! I really enjoyed that one. thanks for sharing Klaatu is one of my favorite 'obscure' bands... Their main claim to musical fame is that they wrote the song "Calling Occupants Of Interstellar Craft" which The Captain and Tenneil (sp) made famous... another 'secret pleasure of mine' is "Horslips" (The first Celtic Rock band.).. Here's my two favorites... "Dearg Doom" (Red Death) "King of the Faeries" (Traditional tune they 'rocked up') [media=]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lIaoyH9I0A edit: oops! It was the Carpenters that covered Klaatu's Song... not the Captain and Tenneil... Edited September 19, 2012 by Taun

Totally fecking breathtaking. Good heavens! A fellow "Horsehead"! I have worn those two out completely several times over... Also "Belfast Gigs" and "Drive the Cold Winter Away"... None of the above Posted September 20, 2012 Author #46 Share Posted September 20, 2012 I know we've already had Under Pressure, but I can't leave the Queen element as that alone. Taun Posted September 20, 2012 #47 Share Posted September 20, 2012 I am going to have to replace my old 33s with cds! The good news.. .Horslips won the legal case and now have all rights to their own music... So when you buy one of their CD's... all of the money doesn't go to some studio exec... (Their web site - where you can order their cd's - they are sometimes hard to find otherwise - http://www.horslips.ie/ )

EllJay Posted September 20, 2012 #50 Share Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) I must have listened to all the Thin Lizzy's albums a thousand times and I never get tired of them. They sure stand the test of time in my book. PS: The harmony solo on Romeo And The Lonely Girl is mind-blowing and is no easy thing to get synced when playing it yourself.
