What if we are creating the past not future?

What if God or Unity Consciousness is the ETERNAL END RESULT, and NOW we are CREATING the past that will lead to this inevitable DESTINY?.

What if we ALL have a destiny in our lives, but it is our CHOICE how we are getting there, so we create the PAST and not THE FUTURE and there was NEVER a beginning!

Think about it, cause and effect is a law of THIS universe - and we can even see things that do NOT follow this law (virtual particles - pop into existence without cause).

What if this is how there is destiny but also free-will?

I will have to sleep on it. At the moment I can't get my head around this concept.

i started wondering.. is this similar to riding the outer wave of an explosion but looking forward or back?

i suppose the sensible thing to say is this is just all assumption upon assumption, but if we never used our brains like this we'd never get anywhere..

everything you mention just happens to be just about every single concept we're working with to get a greater understanding of life.

like Habitat says, it's too clever. at least for us little people, right?

..aren't there supposedly specialists working away diligently at places like cern? i'm sure they will tell us what we need to know. /end sarcasm

spell it out a little further or we'll all be adding our own grand theories of the universe..

i think the point where two parties fail to understand one another is when they fail to understand eachothers definitions of the words they're using..

[edit]

working on reply, g/f walked in.. she'll think i'm a nerd

I think I understand your meaning. There are many ways or paths to get from A to B, we choose our own paths, but all of our paths result in B. Is that it?

My only problem with Destiny is there seems to be no definite conclusion to our lives. It's always just another day, pretty much like the previous day. The day before we die is not some great epiphany and grand finale, the sum of our lives having some important meaning. We just drop dead, not having understood anything very much better than when we started. I don't see our lives as an arrow pointing at anything special.

My Destiny seems to be getting old, weak and sick, my mind deteriorating, and just sort of fading out, no particular purpose being achieved, and then forgotten in due time. Where's Destiny in this?

That must be your body's destiny then... Whatever the destiny is, no matter how good or bad - that is what it is....

Destiny can mean some destination. Does one's Destiny occur every day, or is it pointing to some conclusion to life, or is it one's life as a whole?

Everything happening in the Universe is creating the past.

Everything you see, hear, touch, smell, taste is in the past.

Even when you read this post, it is already in the past...it takes time for the light to travel to your eyes, then for nerves to convey that to your brain, then for your brain to process it and bring it into your consciousness.

We are always creating our past which continually unfolds our future.

Absolutely everything we experience has already happened.

Arpee seems to say that because we only create the past, there is no beginning. Everything is in an eternal (and infinite) past. If Existence is always in the past I suppose this is true. If there is no past there can be no present...no existence.

This is all I can think of to say right now.

Our memories are indeed constantly changing because of exposure to other elements which are then filtered back into our memories. So this kind of makes sense.

Also the past, present, and future do not exist outside the universe (space+time=universe) so time itself is just an illusion within the box of the universe.

Unrelated as well is the theory that once someone is no longer remembered by anyone who is alive then it is as if that person never existed. But history itself is always being rewritten and operates on many myths at the popular level so who knows how some historical figures were really like.
