WWII carrier pigeon message discovered

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

Government code-breakers are working on deciphering a message that has remained a secret for 70 years.

It was found on the remains of a carrier pigeon that was discovered in a chimney, in Surrey, having been there for decades.

It is thought the contents of the note, once decoded, could provide fresh information from World War II.

Interesting find.. but I think all it will do is provide a cryptic statement about some unidentified operation... Raising more questions than it answers...

There is only so much info you can wrap around a pigeon's leg...

It'll probably say "out of toilet paper and ammunition. Please send more supplies. Especially toilet paper".

I feel for the bird but it will be interesting as to what that message said.

It could have lived a full and happy pidgeon life and been the envy of all the other birds because of its cool war accessory, then chosen the chimney as a final resting place....

Edit: I don't think the pidgeon would appreciate your pity. You shouldn't be so insensitive towards animals. How can they ever hope to overcome this oppression?
