I sometimes think they put this nonsense out there,as a way to try to push for more euthanization laws etc.

If cat diseases could kill us,millions would die ,as millions come into contact with cats, daily, world wide .

Common sense ....

Speaking of common sense , just an aside to this,I recently read they want to try to convince cat owners to get flu vaccinations, because humans can now kills their cats ,because we can give cats ,the flu .

FOX news was one of the sources for this. I can find it ,if anyone wants to read it . I dare say,1000s of cats would have died from human flu,if this was true .

The blog for cat lovers I was on,had a few people saying ,OH YES ! I WILL GET A FLU SHOT TO PROTECT MY CAT !

Which just goes to show, people will believe any nonsense they see in the media ,without thinking..."well hey,I've owned cats my entire life, and not one ever got the flu from me ....this seems unsubstantiated."

Duh

Lol. I have a cat that hangs around and a dog, never heard of this stuff before. Had the cat for years, no sign of brain cancer yet...allthough, I do have this crazy craving for tuna these days and a odd tendency to want to groom myself at least once a week.

Seriously though, the bullhockey they come up with goes beyond rediculous.

No,they're saying we ,the cat owners should go get flu shots,so our cats don't catch the flu from US.

T. gondii can be deadly to people with AIDS. If a woman acquires this infection early in pregnancy, it can lead to serious birth defects. Cats--outdoor cats who are allowed to hunt wild game--aren't the only source for infection, but I wouldn't ignore them altogether. Most healthy adults infected with toxo are asymptomatic.

My cat eats mice, birds and yesterday I found a 3 foot snake on my veranda with its head chewed off.

I love my cat but I know he would be picking up parasites fromthe stuff he brings home.

I dont care though, still gunna let him smooch me.
