RIP Clive Dunn

Clive Dunn, best known as Corporal Jones in Dad's Army (and Grandad, to those of us of a certain age), has died at the age of 92.

Dad's Army is a particular favourite of mine, RIP Corporal.

Crap, life goes on and all the sweet memories die with it.

My Dad LOVED this series.... I have fond memories of him rushing his tea in the evenings, so that he could sit down to watch the programme.

The irony is that Dunn was actually a member of Oswald Mosley's Hitler-supporting British Union of Fascists in the 1930s.

The irony is that Dunn was actually a member of Oswald Mosley's Hitler-supporting British Union of Fascists in the 1930s.

He was 14 when he joined the 'Blackshirts' - along with many other fellow pupils at the Sevenoaks School. As soon as he realised what Mosley stood for, Clive bailed out and became a staunch Left-winger for the remainder of his life. At the outbreak of WWII, he joined the 4th.Queen's Own Hussars and spent 4 years as a POW in Austria.

At the risk of sounding really stupid, I've never even heard of "Dad's Army" or Clive Dunn, and I was born in the 60's.

Huh, too much weed I guess.

I can't forgive him for that, either.
