HoboMoo Posted November 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2012 These are just petitions, but kind of insane and very understandable with Obama still at the helm. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/secission-petitions-filed-20-states-190210006.html
questionmark Posted November 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Where you are the second to overdo the headline, not 20 states have but about 3 brain damaged in each of the 20 states. Tomorrow it will be as much news as the pig that farted.
libstaK Posted November 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2012 From the article "Texas has the most with 23,000 signatures so far". Is a pretty far cry from the numbers required to give real credence to any such petition. I usually think the behaviour of fundy right wingers is amusing but this is actually tripping into crazy territory.

In fact, one trip down to the Kuklos bar and grill could get you 23K signatures...
+OverSword Posted November 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2012 I pitty the state that trys to succeed. The US government has already demonstrated that they don't honor that particular item from the constitution when several southern states succeeded. Rather than lose that income the federal government waged the bloodiest war the US has ever been in. Succession is not a real right. It's just ink on papaer and paper burns rather easily. Not really... those States did just not keep to the formalia, had they split off legally there would have been no civil war... just another English speaking 3d world country. Imaginarynumber1 Posted November 12, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) and very understandable with Obama still at the helm. No. It's not understandable with Obama still at the helm. It's understandable when extremist right wingers don't know how governments work. Edited November 12, 2012 by Imaginarynumber1

As the population of texas is 25,674,681 (2011 est)[, that's not a huge percentage is it. No. It's not understandable with Obama still at the helm. It's understandable when extremist right wingers don't know how governments work. Yes, they never miss an opportunity to impose Democracy on every other country, but don't seem so willing to accept it themselves do they. WHich is what any American state that succeeds from the Union will become, none of them have the material wealth to stand on their own two legs and they've been part of a larger community for so long each state's become somewhat specialised in what it produces.
