Charles Darwin's insurance found by RSA

A treasure trove of insurance policies once belonging to Charles Darwin, Sir Christopher Wren, Captain James Cook, Charles Dickens and Isambard Brunel could be put on show in one of London’s newest landmark buildings after being discovered in a central London vault.

The documents have been stored for years by RSA Insurance Group in the bowels of a former insurance building in Shaftesbury Avenue, where the lease is about to expire.

They are now being collated and moved and could be displayed in RSA’s potential new headquarters in the City tower block 20 Fenchurch Street, which has been nicknamed the Walkie-Talkie.
