Ashotep Posted November 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2012 Argentine experts have discovered the fossils of a two-meter (6.5 foot) tall penguin that lived in Antarctica 34 million years ago. Paleontologists find 6.5-foot tall penguin fossils in Antarctica That is one big penguin, not the kind you would want to cuddle.

EllJay Posted November 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2012 Awesome. I wonder what made these animals grow so much larger than the mammals we have today. I dont buy that it just was that there were more food around then. Besides a 2m penguin there was another crazy bird called Demon-Duck Of Doom. It was around 2,5 to 3m tall (8 to almost 10 feet). Despite its name it wasn't a duck you wanna mess with. The birdie was carnivorous and pretty fast. Some might get this kind of image in front of you when you hear the name>>> But it was more like the Emu, but much much bigger.>>>

pallidin Posted November 22, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2012 Yeah, that's a good question. Why were there many supersized creatures back then, but not so much now.
Abramelin Posted November 22, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2012 One joke goes down the drain.... A visibly shaken man staggers into a bar. He asks the bartender for a double Jack Daniel's. After downing the first drink, he proceeds to down two more doubles. The bartender becomes concerned and asks the man what is the problem. The man mumbles that it's not important, that no one can help him anyway. The man then orders a fourth drink, and again the bartender asks if there is anything he can do. This time the mans says, "Yeah, there is something you can do. Answer me a question. How big is a penguin?" The bartender holds his hand about three feet off the ground and says, "About this high. Why?" "Damn, I think I just ran over a nun."
