Biff Wellington Posted November 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2012 TOKYO -- For those seeking a glow to their Christmas this year, a jewelry store in downtown Tokyo has just the answer: a pure gold revolving "tree" covered in Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell and Cinderella. The tree-like ornament is made of 88 pounds of pure gold, standing nearly 8 feet high and 3 feet in diameter. It is decorated with pure gold-plate silhouette cutouts of 50 popular Disney characters and draped with ribbons made of gold leaf. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/11/22/15366198-42-million-for-christmas-tree-this-ones-made-of-gold-and-disney-characters?lite

Star of the Sea Posted November 29, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) That's an obscene amount of money for a Christmas tree, even if it's beautiful... just think of how many starving children could benefit from that amount of cash. That's true unfortunately. So many people are starving and they spend so much money in a tree. It's not fair
