JGirl Posted December 7, 2012 #51 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Why would a unicorn, an animal that, if it existed would essentially be a horse. Live in a lair? What possible need would a horse have to live underground? caves are not usually roomy enough for a horse in my experiance. maybe they didn't have enough room on the stone sign to carve unicorn stable

Render Posted December 10, 2012 #54 Share Posted December 10, 2012 It now appears that the unicorn angle was a mistranslation. It has emerged that what translators were trying to say was that top North Korean explorers had found the nest of a beast with a dragon's head, a deer's body, the tail of a cow, hooves and a mane. The mix-up centred on the translation of the word "kirins" or "Qilins," Prof James Grayson told the Guardian. He said the mythical creature occupies a special place in Korean folklore as the favourite mode of transport for a legendary ruler from antiquity. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/412308/20121206/north-korea-unicorn-mystery-kirins.htm Even better.
