Bring on the "invasion" as we believers will finally have the definitive proof the skeptics have been asking for

I've heard the theory of an "alien invasion" if this world went to crap or we figured things out then the world starting going to crap. Manifest an alien invasion to destroy us all. Lol I don't think so. Probably the same things or something around the same things that happened in our past history that nobody believes in will happen.

Jersey Devils will spawn if you look at the Apocalypse way in the Bible and others.

I can't view video at my current location - What did it show? Was it in English? What exactly did he say?

Any news since the 1st post? He was joking, surely....

What it is is a voiceover purportedlly saying "The prime minister (mr. Medvedev) said that he was given a special secret folder giving details of the Aliens who've visted the planet and of the special Secret service that exercises control over them. Then it was cut off and cut back to something else. Nothing about an Invasion at all. The most likely explanation seems to be that he was either making an off the cuff Joke, like Julia Gillard recently did, or it was just faked. I like the first explanation (if it isn't the Extraterrestrial one, of course); I'd like to think that the prime Minister of Russia has a sense of Humour.

An article from the Telegraph (UK) may be of interest. The interpretation is that Medvedev was responding in a humorous way to a reporter's question about the PM having received information on 'aliens'. That may be true, but many a truth has been couched in a jest, and many a fact has been softened by humor. I tried repeatedly to create a link to this article, without success. It is featured today at the Coast to Coast AM site, should anyone wish to read it.

Read the news story I linked above in this thread.

He was speaking off the cuff with the interviewers after the end of the official interview. He also said he believed in Father Frost (Russian equivalent of Santa) and that more information about aliens can be found by watching the popular movie Men in Black.

Are people so desperate to believe in an alien invasion that they think that what was obviously someone joking with interviewers is worthy of consideration as serious? That he's "disclosing" information about a real alien invasion of earth by inserting it amongst jokes about believing in Santa and how Men in Black is a source of information about aliens?

Wait... perhaps Men in Black is part of the alien disclosure and wasn't just a tongue-in-cheek movie about aliens!

Fife Symington was Govenor of Arizona in March 1997, when the Phoenix lights appeared. He made a great point of joking about them; even had his aide turn up at the news conference in an 'alien' costume. He has since revealed that he took the matter very seriously, and intended, he says, to quell worry or panic by making light of the phenomenon. It appears quite possible that at least some politicians are able and willing to use humor to ease tension about a serious matter, or in order to avoid having to discuss it seriously in public. The possibility that Mr. Medvedev has just done the same does not appear so very ridiculous to me.

As you look at the girl reporter, she is practically laughing the whole way through.

Let her laugh, say I. The news media have been amusing themselves in this way for years. The (U.S.) government adopted a policy of ridiculing the subject of U.F.O.s decades ago. It just may be that the last laugh will be on both of them!

I think this was most likely in response to the Russian Defense Ministry statements from last week mentioned by James Oberg.

I suspect some reporter asked the PM about this and he decided to make a big joke out of it...

Perhaps it is a hoax, grafted onto a recording of a SKY TV broadcast.

Perhaps????????

Ahh, so the hindsight did work on some people!

Simply amazing! As long as one says Alien, in certain circles they can do no wrong.

What's that, don't trust the Government, but Fife is a pollie......... and a civillians are contradicting him......... tables turned have they?

With so many stories circling around this alien invasion one might think it might just happen, what then?

only if the metric tonne of stories about Obama means they're true - so he's a socialist, fascist demagogue, born in Kenya to Muslims plotting to destroy America, converted to radical Anti-White Christianity and is actually a baby eating Masonic reptile.

I think it was a fake, but if someone did try to get it out. Im sure it would happen just like that. But my question is ( WHY) would it happen like that? A warning would be nice. Just to get to safety, or something. Then again where would be safe? And would our weapons even be usefull? Thoughts?
