A team of Japanese scientists have been experimenting with ostrich neck arteries .

So far,by pass has only been done on pigs ,but the arteries are the right length, diameter ,and appear very hardy .

They show great promise ,is the consensus.

The only problem with them is, the lucky recipient can't always be sure there'll be nice soft sand for when they get frightened! Headbutting concrete hurts!
