Israeli Pre-Dawn Raid on Palestinian NGOs

Entering before dawn on Tuesday, troops wrenched open the doors of the Women's Union, the Palestinian NGO Network and Addameer, an advocate for Palestinians in Israeli jails.

The raids were the first of their kind in a Palestinian city since the West Bank government won an initiative at the United Nations General Assembly on November 29 which recognised a de facto Palestinian state.

ADDAMEER (Arabic for conscience) Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association is a Palestinian non-governmental, civil institution that works to support Palestinian political prisoners held in Israeli and Palestinian prisons. Established in 1992 by a group of activists interested in human rights, the center offers free legal aid to political prisoners, advocates their rights at the national and international level, and works to end torture and other violations of prisoners' rights through monitoring, legal procedures and solidarity campaigns.

I really don´t understand how people can continue to support these kinds of actions. I provided links to all of the organizations so people can check them out themselves. Disgraceful IMO!!

It would be interesting to know what they were searching for. Seems pointless to do such a thing "just because".

;) maybe, but it still seems like an odd place to toss just for a statement. Maybe they wanted intelligence on some prisoners they recently acquired? Sounds like this organization might have at least had demographic info on some of their inmates - who knows... No one got killed and in the current situation that's always a blessing for all concerned.
