Elementary school shooting

Yet another shooter. Whats the total this year?

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different outcome. Its time the US acknowledged its society is dysfunctional and did something about it.

I propose psychological screening during the development years of childhood to identify and treat those children with personality disorders (seeing as this is when the damage is most likely to be done).

Wow, just the US huh?

Again, why the **** do people bring their own agendas into such a tragic topic?........Sick.

I have to disagree. People AND easy access to deadly weapons are the problem. If a country like Japan with 150 million people can effectively prevent guns from entering society, so can the U.S. It's just a matter of willpower.

In the UK guns are banned.

Instead they have a habit of samurai swording people. The lesson is if someone is determined to kill then they will kill.

A gun is exponentially more deadly. The lesson is a person with a gun will likely kill many more people than with a sword or knife.

0 children dead. Thats the entire point. Guns are simply too deadly. Evil will always exist, but guns make its power exponentially greater.

By the way, the founding fathers likely had no way of knowing how powerful and cheap firearms would get.

I suppose the nation would sleep much more sound if 27 people were just critically injured.

What if the next coward decides to use a bomb?

Or a sword?

Or a GodDamn Candy Cane?

What will everyone argue about then?

See the last line of my previous statement, REGARDLESS OF MANNER OR MEANS.

End.

The whole town is destroyed. They will not recover from this. This is like when Columbine happened. Or TWA flight 800. It is horrible. Forever Christmas will be ruined in this town.

I read a clip from an article, a teacher locked her first graders into a bathroom while the shots were being fired.. Children saying -" I don't want to die, I want Christmas.".. That vision of them being so scared is awful...

OK, then lets make machine guns, mortars, nukes, and missiles available at your local Target since MANNER OR MEANS.don't matter.

The matter and the mean is very, very, very important.

Oh by the way, the vast majority of the Chinese kids had no life threatening injuries.

I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old... It made me want to go and get them from class immediately. It is a unimaginable tragedy.

That itself is understandable.. I am sure a lot of parents have hugged their kids from school today ...I am just sorry to know that 20 other parents wont be able to..sigh

If this is true, that would explain it.......You would need to be a complete and utter mental case to point a gun at a 5 year old and keep going

I can't even imagine. My heart goes out to them. I just went to my 6 year old's Christmas Program 3 days ago and all I can think about is how excited him and all of his classmates were about Christmas. I can't even fathom what those poor parents are enduring right now..

Well if you think it's too late and impossible to cleanse the country of guns like Japan, then I won't argue much.

Save it.

Sources told the New York Postthat Lanza had 'had a dispute with' his mother, who was found dead at her home. He then drove to the school in her car and gunned down her kindergarten class, Fox reported.

Even this doesn't make sense. These reporters need to slow it down.

No it isnt unique to US society but the US is producing more shooters every year than the rest of the world combined.

The US needs to screen its population for narcissistic disorders and tweak is policies to stop the production of more.

My 7 year old daughter was meant to be the narrator of her class nativity play 2 days ago, sadly she fell ill and spent the last few days in bed sick.. Her little brother ( 7 months old ) also took sick.. They both seen a doctor and are resting... She cried because she missed her school play.. Bless her ..

I don't think the U.S. is any more crazy. We're nowhere near perfect, but I'd bet this country actually is a lot more mentally healthy than nations that are not as prosperous or have high moral values.

Not really. We'd actually be thinking "Wow imagine if they had a gun, they would have been killed." The means to kill someone should not be so easily available. Yes they coud blow up the school. They could do all sorts of things. However there is an appeal with a gun. You are not being honest. Ex. A person with a knife is going to get bloody. It's hard to kill someone with a knife. You have to get close. They can fight back. Young people are raised on video games. They sit in their homes. Target practice. Shooting moving targets. A shooter will like making his game come to life. There's a sport and a game in it. That is not in a bombing or fire. It is distant. The issue is not just guns. The psychology of a mass murderer makes a gun. An ideal weapon of choice.

Careful now... There is no evidence that the shooter spent time playing violent video games.

I would bet he did, but there is no evidence of that yet.

And there is no correlation between playing violent games and carrying out violent acts. I play tons of violent games. And I don't even kill spiders, I kindly escort them out of the house...

I'm not being honest about what?

I'm not Pro-Gun..

I'm not Anti-Gun..

I'm Anti-Murder of innocent children.

Feel free to argue with me about this now.
