just a pic i took years ago of my bedroom window at the ranch. yeah really poor insulation lol

the dark bits in between snow and ice crystals are the tree trunks in the back yard.

Tbh I could do with some of the snow right now.

This rain is getting quite monotonious and a pain in the bum.

I think you have just highlighted the most beautiful part of snow.

The individual layers of the flakes are absolutely jaw-dropping.

You might just convert me at this rate!

i much prefer snow to rain so i can sympathize with you!

the only time i ever wish it would rain is in mid july here. we get virtually no rain from the first of june to the end of august and sometimes not until mid september.

when it does rain it often evaporates before it hits the valley floor because it's so hot and dry here in summer

Tbh I don't think there's nothing beautiful at all about rain.

It can ruin livelihoods, gut your property and leave you high and dry.

There's even no patterns to admire because it's pure liquid.

It dosn't even get a chance to evaporate so puddles are part of my daily grind.

I guess there's no valley floor to stop it hitting the floor where I live.

Even in summer so a change is as good as anything.

That's where the snow comes in.

i knew it was wet there but i had no idea how wet!

where i live is considered semi-arid/desertlike. we can grow prickly pear cactus in our outdoor gardens actually. we do get snow but our summers are very dry and very hot.

It's so wet I now take my smoke breaks in the kitchen.

The road I live on is very lopsided because of shoddy roadworks.

So you've got this puddle that looks like it could pass as a reservoir.

And that's before all the potholes which have been blamed on snow.

The only one happy with recent events is Kayla my younger dog.

She is always trying to lap it up after it falls from the heavens.

A blizzard would come as a blessed relief and make an ideal improvement on this monsoon.

It's pelting down here at this very moment! I managed to turn the horses out first thing this morning, but only for about an hour. Fortunately all my buildings are on higher ground, so there's no problem with that, but the lower field and the lane are submerged. Mick Barrass rents the 'lower' from me for his Freisians, but I've had to help him move them this afternoon up to Malting's field which is above my area of woodland. The dogs are loving it though! Mrs.E has had to dig a small drainage trench round her herb garden. I've told her to plant rice next year! I've known wet periods before, but I can't remember rain like this outside of the Far East! I'm rather glad this is'nt snow though, as much as I like it. Not in this amount anyway!

There's even more snow in Syria than the UK.

However that's all going to change because we are due a three week spell of it.

We usually get our quota of snow in January,February and March.

So Frosty the Snowman is going to grace us with his presence after all.

Tbh the scene is set with the roads getting drier and a nip in the air.

I'm fully expecting our particular blanket of white pretty soon.
