New report says green if EU meets green energy goals, becomes almost totally carbon-free by 2050 it could generate €3 trillion in fuel savings

A green revolution that would make EU energy almost totally carbon-free by 2050 would generate €3 trillion in fuel savings, a report commissioned by environmental campaigners said.

The energy shift would already create around half a million extra jobs by 2020, researchers from German aerospace center DLR, which also specializes in energy and transport, found.

it may be possible, but in reality it wont be achieved. do not forget the route Germany is taking, building 26 NEW Coal power stations with a life span of 50 years. Germany is returning to COAL. going green goes out of the window when it comes to money matters. German people have seen a rise in energy bills thanks to the closing down of nuclear plants and german industry as been banging on the door about rising costs, with companies moving abroad - so back to cheap proven fossil fuel. germany will not reach its target of 40% renewable by 2020.

governments are concerning themselves with real issues of the day, energy security. thats why we've seen an increase in oil and gas exploration around the world, just look at the USA could be totally self sufficient by 2030. fracking in the UK is growing, areas of the north sea considered not viable are becoming viable, the UK as within its territorial waters 107 oil platforms, 181 gas platforms and in the last three years has opened 17 new fields. 109 exploration and appraisal wells and 300-400 million barrels of oil and gas equivalent have been discovered. Ireland in partnership with the UK, hitting oil of the coast of Cork.
