Urisk Posted December 30, 2012 #26 Share Posted December 30, 2012 I believe there are the Japanese Guinnea Pig films which are said to be unbelievably gory and psychologically warped. In fact I think there was one, that some American film star caused a big stooshie about because he thought it was a bonafide snuff film. I think one was called Mermaid in a Manhole, and another Flower of Flesh And Blood (which is the one that caused aforementioned stooshie)? I've heard they're quite intense although I've never seen them. Blood and guts are fair game to me, but this whole notion of the "torture porn" genre just isn't my bag at all. For laughs with a hint of the sinister, I'd actually reccommend The Mighty Boosh. It's very weird, quite funny, and has a slight darkness about it; perhaps not deliberate (as in League of Gentlemen) but characters like Charlie, the Crack Fox and the hitch-hiker, yeah there's something a little sinister about them! Same goes for Reeves and Mortimer's old sketch show... Funny but freaky-deaky! Garth Marenghi's Dark Place too... Must be something about us Brits. Simbi Laveau Posted December 31, 2012 #27 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Simbi I actually own Cronos lol, but another one that desturbed me to know end was BUG with Ashley Judd, WOW is all I have to say about that one. Oh and When I saw Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer I felt dirty after it was over. I saw something and it was about the making of Henry, the director said everybody that had anything to do with the movie is definately going to hell simply because the movie is sooooo sick. LMAO Henry was just a sick ,realistic depiction of a sociopath on a spree. It made me feel a bit sick . Cronos was just bizarre. I'd like to watch it again now . I haven't seen it in years . Wolfman 1993 Posted December 31, 2012 #29 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Monster Man was delightfully cheesy. At the end of the movie, you could tell that the director just gave up and said "ya know what? this turned out really bad, we'll just end it the same way"

MysticStrummer Posted January 2, 2013 #34 Share Posted January 2, 2013 A lot of good suggestions. This one was already brought up, but Dead Girl is what leapt to mind when I read the OP.
Urisk Posted January 2, 2013 #35 Share Posted January 2, 2013 Oh, here's one! Rabid! A woman, played by a porn star, is involved in a motorbike accident. Wakes up from suergery to find she has what looks looks only like an inflating, blood-sucking penis in her inner-elbow. Seduces lots of men, sucks their blood. Gives them rabies. The rabies spreads. It's by David Cronenberg... so what do you expect? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076590/ To be honest any Cronenberg film would probably do, like Videodrome or Scanners, Naked Lunch. Also one that @ve been meaning to see but never got round to: Altered States. Sounds interesting...

grendals_bane Posted January 3, 2013 #37 Share Posted January 3, 2013 Little Otik or Greedy Guts as its sometimes called, it is kind of like an insane version of Pinocchio. Ben but only for the bizarre scene where a boy starts singing to a rat. Alien 2 On The Earth an Alien rip-off with absolutely no resemblance to Alien whatsoever. I was unhappy. It was a while (ten-fifteen years) since I saw it, might have to watch it again to see if it holds Of all the novels by Clive Barker I hoped for Weaveworld to become a movie. It has been rumoured and speculated, but so far nothing more.

buckskin scout Posted January 9, 2013 #48 Share Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) Un Chien Andalou Simon Of The Desert The Tales Of Hoffmann Eyes Without A Face Peeping Tom (I like it better than Psycho) Onibaba Repulsion The Seventh Seal The Virgin Spring Persona Vargtimmen The Last Wave Picnic At Hanging Rock The Shout Spoorloos aka The Vanishing One film that is twice as nasty as Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer is: Angst (1983) an Austrian horror film about a serial killer. One of the most creepiest and disturbing bits of cinema I have ever seen. If you can manage to find this, someone suggested this film to me where else ... over the internet and gave me the address to a stream. I felt violated and dirty afterwards. This movie will send you to the shower for a long time while the scenes linger hauntingly in your mind. I felt the same about Irreversible and Funny Games, only this one is nastier still because it is more realistic and subjective. Nope, I have only seen two Hideo Gosha films so far, Sword Of The Beast and Three Outlaw Samurai. I am hoping they would show more of his films on TCM.
