A guide to the forgotten language of Xmas

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

Until the 16th century, there was only one traditional Christmas dish: goose. That’s why Christmas was coming and the geese were getting fat. They were being plumped up for slaughter.

Luckily for the geese, but peculiarly for the English language, everything was about to change.

I love reading stuff like this, thanks Still! I've had a calendar for this year called 'Forgotten English' and there are all kinds of delicious words in there no one uses anymore. :D
