I know russia wouldn't want to be ruled by an absolute monarch now that its a democracy, but who would become tsar if they reinstated the monarchy (or wanted a constitutional monarch) ?.

There are many possible claimants to the Russian throne and there's a group in existence calling itself 'The Romanov Family Association' and consists of legitimate descendants of Tsar Nicholas I. About 25-30 of them could be considered close enough to the Romanov blood-line to become Tsar. Prince Michael of Kent who is the grandson of the Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna is an associate member of the group and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh (not a member), is the great-nephew of the last Tsarina and whose DNA was used to identify the bodies of Tsarina Alexandra Fyodorovna (Alix of Hesse) and her children in 2008/9.

Putin doesn't want to be Tsar, he wants to be Chuck Norris.
