acidhead Posted January 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) CPP, EI hikes hitting Canadian paycheques Jan, 1st, 2013 Working Canadians can expect a hit to the wallet as they welcome in 2013, mostly in the form of higher payroll deductions. Besides the bills many people will face from holiday shopping, there will be increases to Canada Pension Plan and Employment Insurance premiums. continued.... http://www.cbc.ca/ne...-increases.html ***** lol..@ 'working' canadians Edited January 1, 2013 by acidhead
Daughter of the Nine Moons Posted January 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2013 According to that article, I will be paying $51.50(EI) + $49.50 (CPP) = $101 ÷ 26 (Pay cheques) = $3.88 every 2 weeks. *shrugs*
glorybebe Posted January 1, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2013 I still maintain that EI should be a choice. If you want to pay into it, then you are covered whether you quit or are fired. If you opt out and don't pay, and you lose your job, then that was your choice. To be told you HAVE to pay and then have a hell of a time to get your claim even looked at...it is just wrong IMO. glorybebe Posted January 2, 2013 #7 Share Posted January 2, 2013 Oh, AND the Americas. Nevermind... Sorry, I epically failed... That is something that has made me wondered....why is the US so much more important than the rest of North America for this section to be called that? Why not just North America? Not trying to start a fight, just curious.
