Still Waters Posted January 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2013 The eerie late-night serenades began in November and emanate from a brushy swamp on the Umatilla Indian Reservation east of Pendleton. The cries range from high-pitched screams to basso profundo roars. "It's causing an uproar around here," said Sylvia Minthorn, who lives in a tribal housing unit near the swamp, where she used to play as a child. She's seen grown men's hair stand on end when the shrieks commence. http://www.oregonliv...g_from_a_s.html

Orcseeker Posted January 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2013 What about those foxes that sound like banshees when they call out?
Mantis914 Posted January 29, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2013 I don't know why but to me it sounds like a bird although I've rarely heard birds calling at night... I had a parrot that made sounds similar to that, scared the pants off me when he would just do that out of the blue...
