Simbi Laveau Posted January 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/brooklyn/dolphin-stranded-brooklyn-article-1.1247776 A dolphin separated from its pod,has ended up in the Gowanus canal in Brooklyn NY . The freezing polluted water ,is causing disorientation and distress. Authorities are reluctant to intervene ,causing the dolphin more stress. Experts feel the dolphin is in severe distress. It's hoped the high tide swells will flush the dolphin back out to open sea. They're going to wait two tide swells ,and if the dolphin is still in the canal ,they will get permission from the feds to move the dolphin . I saw the videos on the news .I hope the poor thing lives that long . Federal agencies have to be involved ,because the animal is on the protected list . *huge tears* saying a little prayer Edited January 25, 2013 by Simbi Laveau

EllJay Posted January 26, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2013 I really need to read a bit more careful. In the line: "Authorities are reluctant to intervene ,causing the dolphin more stress." I read: Authorities are reluctant to interview ,causing the dolphin more stress. and thought, why the F do they want to interview him? Real brainiac-moment by me there. Sad case though, poor suckah, off to the big pool in the sky.

After it died, they said they didn't go in for it because of the pollution . Listen, the frigging NY aquarium is a 10 minute ride from this. They could have gone in and moved it easily . Granted ,our aquarium is a joke, given they are the only major one in the country that seems to do no marine rescue work . It could have been saved. It seemed like they just couldn't be bothered . I hate people . They suck ! Edited January 26, 2013 by Simbi Laveau

How about this: people who wait for authorities to intervene suck. yThey first said they didn't want to cause it stress, which made no sense at all. After it died ,the story was ,they didn't save it because of the pollution The pollution doing what exactly ? Killing the dolphin ? The cretins didn't want to send in a diving team . It would have taken minutes to put it in a harness ,haul it out,put it in a truck ,drive to the aquarium ,plop it in a clean warm tank . They could not be bothered ,and if any civilian stepped in ,where do we take the dolphin, and its illegal to go in the canal you would be. arrested . No no,bloomberg prefers wasting tax payer dollars on the don't drink more than 16 oz of soda campaign. There were people who work with dolphin rescue on the dock ,watching ,telling them ,its in severe distress . They could do nothing .
