They look like Lilacs. I planted a small tree in my backyard last year, hopefully I get a few blooms this year. I love the smell of them.

Lilacs?

Sadly, no. It's the poor relation of the lilac: buddlea. But I love it and the bees and butterflies love it, and it's no trouble.

I would just like to make it clear, to Prof.T in particular, that IRL I do NOT look like a large squat toad! (This effect is obviously made by the shape of the pot).

Actually, now I look more closely at this photo I realise I have a candidate for an 'Is This A Ghost?' thread, because I was completely alone in the house and yet there appears to be someone else over to the left !

Go back and sit in front of the pot that is in your picture. Pretty sure you will be able to see the structure/object that appears to be a person. Betcha its not a person Fun pic though!
