Raptor Witness Posted February 3, 2013 #276 Share Posted February 3, 2013 So far the U.S. Constitution has been the best vehicle for slowing the spread of tyranny, while preserving individual freedoms, in the history of the world. It's not perfect by any means, but it doesn't need to be trashed. What we do need is a careful, thoughtful, and meaningful analysis of where it has failed the people, and how might we address those issues. I would argue that it's far less about the letter of the law, and more about the spirit of the law. If what Jesus taught is true, and the gates to Hell are wider, then how can democracy long survive? What will get U.S. in the end won't be our Constitution, but did we care enough to examine the reason for its construct in the first place. Did we care enough to examine the spirit in which it was created. We have all the tools we need to save ourselves, but we also have the tools to destroy humanity forever. It isn't by chance that we find both of these at the same place, point, and time in history. What we do in the end won't be written on a piece of paper. It will be written on our hearts.
