To look inside

To look inside

To look into ones heart,

observing thoughts,

being aware of emotions

and desires,

is not always pleasant,

and easy to seek escape,

for the death to self

we are called to

is a complete stripping

of what is often see as normal,

good and right.

It starts with a love of self,

and trust in the process of life,

without that no progress can be made.

Man mirrors his face every morning.

Why not his heart?
