It is a day for sharing sentiments to a loved one. But as these old Valentine's Day cards show those feelings were not always of a positive nature.

Known as 'Vinegar Valentines' these mocking cards were used to tell someone how you did not love them.

The cards range over 100 years from the 1840s to the 1940s and have been brought together by collectorsweekly.com.

didn't type the face book part right.... I love those old valentines found in attics they are hillarious even the nice ones!
