Still Waters Posted March 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2013 An attempt to ban the international trade in polar bear parts has provoked a heated battle at the Cites conservation meeting in Bangkok. Negotiators are split on the plan, with those in favour saying it is crucial for the survival of the species. Canada's Inuit say the trade should continue as it is critical to their economic survival. And some campaign groups are also opposing it, saying the ban isn’t scientifically justified. http://www.bbc.co.uk...onment-21688444

Bavarian Raven Posted March 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2013 Sometimes people have to change their way of life in order for other forms of life to survive. There should be a ban. ALways easy to say when you're not the one living hundreds if not thousands of clicks away from any other sort of work and stand to loose your livelihood. On the plus side, if managed right, hunting and trapping are perfectly sustainable and very green in the long run Cheers.
