What kind of person can be regarded as someone completely divorced oneself from spirituality? I am just curious.

Depends on how you define spirituality.

I'm not sure anyone can completely separate him/her self from some thoughts or feelings of some sort of spirituality. Even if spirituality is just wishful thinking, the fact and mystery of our existence prompts us to consider this baffling wonder, tempting us to consider its cause to be something external to our material existence.

I suppose a die-hard materialist or atheist is supposed to consider all this spirituality stuff rubbish, but that would be a closed minded person incapable of considering unknown possibilities. I think this would not be an intelligent view to take hold of.

Well I'm not religious. And I don't really consider myself spiritual at all. Why try to make something more fantastical than it is?

I am alive, I am human, my purpose is to live until I die like any biological organism.

I'm a good person, nicer than most. I have close friends and family, no enemies(that I'm aware of :tu:), I'm open minded, I respect and support things like homosexuality and abortion(obviously if justified). I don't discriminate race, ethnicity or sex. I work and pay bills. I walk away from fights, but I speak up if I see someone being abused and I can help (eg. last night after midnight in a Hungry Jacks (Burger King (US)) I stopped a guy who was harassing an intoxicated girl and got her into a cab home.) I enjoy what I do and what I have and I know that I'm better off than most - therefore I'm not unhappy about not having things that others might have. I have my own opinions and beliefs about my life, my existence and everything that exists around me. People find it hard to understand why it's hard to make me angry and why I am very liberal in my emotional responses - but that just comes from generally thinking logically.

My name is Timothy and I'm not spiritual. Let me know if you have any other questions!?

Edit: And Ron, if you're casting for a new porn production I'd be happy to contribute if it was tasteful. I wouldn't want to feature, just help behind the scenes to bring a quality project to life!

It's the opposite of being born again.

I like English cause it sometimes does this sort of thing. Don't call anyone they are "worldly," as it implies a certain lack (although I'm not really sure of what). However, a person "of the world" is sophisticated in a good way and one who is "worldly-wise" knows his or her way about.

I love the phrase, "We are both men of the world." Just what does that mean? The suggestive quality is strong but it doesn't commit to much. The ability to get away with such worldy ambiguity is a marvel.

Lol I like what you did there.

I have always understood that expression to mean that a person is simply unconcerned with God and His rules and way of life. It has a negative context in scripture of course since God is accepted there to be the source of all good and if He is ignored no good can come of it. So to be worldly just means to live as though there is no God. AiD7 seems pretty close to having the correct idea :)

LOL you just proved with this post that you are indeed a spiritual being, whether you like to admit it or not. Non spiritual beings are incapable of taking any interest in porn what so ever.

We are all in the world The question is, do we chose to be of the world or of the spirit. All people with a functioning mind are a mix of the material and the spiritual, just as they are a mix of the logical and the emotional/ intuitive. The balance varies greatly from individual to individual. The defining question is, "Which is more important to you, your material well being and existence, or your inner, spiritual, well being and existence?" ie How you feel, and who you are?

Most people can live without a lot of material things, but they cannot live (and many chose not to by ending their lives) without inner spiritual well being and comfort.

No person can be said to be completely non-spiritual,

Everyone appears gross and physical ,but is essentially spirit,he can be unaware, but awareness can be built conciuosly like anything else can be developed,

A total sinner has a good chance of rejecting sin post-feeling guilty and going through consequences,

After reaching a sense of material well being if a person realises he want's more,

he can look within to explore the spiritual dimension, redemption is for common ppl like us who enjoy the world and later embrace and enjoy spiritual dimensions,

No person is non -spiritual.................... just my opinion :)

But what is spiritual is yes a question of debate ,seekers know it for sure

We can enjoy both with some simple discrimination ,creation is for experience

simple living has unlimited advantages, balancing is an art ,

u fall u getup ,another falls we help him get up,

we clear the clutter, reject bogus philosophies have a good time before and after death ,

isn't that the point

I dont think 'having a good time" per se is the point. We should be doing thngs we enjoy and make us happy because they have purpose merit and are constructive. Not because they provide us with a feeling of a good time. Thus I wouldnt drink to feel better or good, becaue while I might think it is giving me a good time it is harmful to myslelf and to my society. Thus it can't truly constitute a good time. I think we should find things which give us a sense of a good time but have no destructive components. (Reasonable risk to self or other consenting adults, inherent in a lot of activities, is acceptable as long as any cost does not have to be borne by the community)

I now know that no human actually needs drugs, alcohol, casual sex or other psychological props to have a totally good time. The sense of a good time is an inner construct which one can simply switch on at will. I have a good time every second of my life because i choose to..

Are you looking for an adjective or noun to describe or label such a person, or looking for characteristics of that type of person?
