The Queen should think about retiring

The Queen is, by a considerable distance, the world's biggest landowner.

She owns about 6.6 BILLION acres of land. That's because, for all intents and purposes, she owns all of the land of the 16 countries of which she is Head of State, including the world's second-biggest country, Canada.

The world's next largest landowner is the Russian state, which owns just over 4.2 billion acres.

The value of the Queen's land holding is £17.6 TRILLION (US$33 trillion), which technically makes her the richest person on Earth.

And yet she still takes 65 pnds per yer per subject to support her life style. You sound like the masochist begging to be spanked more and harder. puke. Edited by OverSword

Her Majesty probably used the first Queen Elizabeth ;daughter of Henry the Eigth and Anne Boleyn as her role model in regards to her dedication to her people.

Nothing wrong with that. There have been terrible monarchs in history, and some who were great and even some who are saints;like St. Hedwig of Silsiea her niece St.Elizabeth of Hungary;St.Louis of France;St.Ferdinand; St.Wenceslaus and others. A lot of people would prefer William as king to his father prince Charles.

Hey having a democracy is n't any picnic.just look at the idiots we have in Congress who don't listen to John Q.Public and take bribes and anything else the lobbyist hand out to them and so on.They cost the public too with all their trips etc.at the tax payers expense.

As it happens - she puts more money into the government treasury than she takes out of it.

Cost of the Queen is £32.3 million. The income from the Crown Estate, which goes directly to the government treasury, is £230.9 million.

Currently, the arrangement is transitioning, and, in future, the Queen will just take 15% of the income from the Crown Estate directly.

Royalty should be expensive; they are the symbol of the nation. Palaces and carriages and crown jewels and big weddings and parades and royal guards and pagentry and command performances and royal tours and formal parties for visiting government dignitaries. That stuff costs money and should be done right. In the end it is worth it.

There hasn't been a Queen of England since 1603.

You're getting as pedantic as me, LLG! s7876.gif
