My sister and the poltergeist

Bonecrusher

Recommended Posts

My sister had a spectral visitation fifteen years ago in her old house. She's had toiletries mysteriously falling inside the bath and pennies sliding across the floor of their own accord. The telly switching itself off and on when there's not even a power outage. All her dogs standing on the sofa like they are trying to hide from an unseen presence. Her former boyfriend going white as a sheet. The catalyst for this could be the old guy dying from a heart attack in the back yard. This went on for a period of a week..

Personally I thought it was a earthquake..

He was kept out of a pay toilet when he was alive. Is there a German word for "stinky ghost"?

If that's the case then Houston we have a problem.

Because there's an other address that could be subject to paranormal forces.Because both my parents passed away in the same house. My mother from complications in her liver due to Cirrhosis and my dad taking a drunken tumble down the stairs with fatal consquences.I expect the haunting to be more vicious because they always had arguments. If you compare that in comparison with a gentle old pensioner keeling over from a heart attack then they will need to call in a specialist from the Vatican. That's if the current occupants are not freaked out.

Tbh the week after I startled to lodge at the same house where my sister and boyfriend had their visit from the "other" side.I can't believe I scared the poltergeist away.I thought they were supposed to be fearless. But I still think it's an earthquake.Because the aftershocks do last for a substantial period. However who's to say my sister wasn't being ecomincal with the truth.I'm just going off the reputation of her former boyfriend but they could have stowed a lodger at the house without the DHS's permission.

What should a poltergeist knock over?

The question should of been, why would a dead person want to knock stuff over?

I vow on this thread if I die i would haunt all bowling allies, making every single pin drop. Why? Because Aliens.

We don't know for sure therefore your point about what they knock over is meaningless.

Exactly, Why knock over toilet paper, if they able to do that why not do something more? Use a type writer, use a keyboard etc.

I like to read this research you mentioned and please I don't want theoretical, just the proof.

Why use a type writer or keyboard? What is the intent of that? What is the intent to manipulate any object?

You don't know, so your reasoning is pretty silly. The 'why would ghosts" line works for hoaxed YouTube videos where a toilet seat lid lifts 5 times in 10 seconds, but it only really works because you know (or are fairly certain) that the event was hoaxed. You can jokingly reason much easier this way. When the event is real however, reasoning based on ignorance isn't the best medicine for figuring anything out. It might be better to figure out what could have manipulated an object, other than a theoretical ghost. You might get somewhere better.

This reply of course theoretical and not researched, because we are talking about a theoretical entity and subject. That should have gone without saying.

I guess that if there is a spirit world, we don't know what they can and can't do.

I've only really had one experience that I have not being able to logically explain. A load of shoes were moved from a shoe rack and piled in to a neat little pile, about a meter from the rack. The rack wasn't over (and they wouldn't have landed like they did fall off), I was home alone with the door locked, there was no earthquake or anything. It was totally bizarre. Loads of other things happened in the place, but I would explain those away, but this I couldn't.

Do I know it was a ghost? Nope, I just cannot explain what happened. But if it was a ghost, then why would they do that? If they could do that, then why couldn't they write me a note or type on my computer?

I certainly don't have the answers, but guess we never really will.

Way to make it trivial. You clearly have no idea (nor have even touched the surface research wise) as to how a spirit is able to affect anything in our world. It's a draining activity, you're in a completely different plane of existence, and if you look hard enough, you'll find plenty of more meaningful spirit activity than "knocking over toilet paper".

I presume by "research wise" you are referring to some kind of ghost-hunting tv show? Your statement that it is a draining activity and done from a different plane of existence is completely made up and has no basis in reality - just because you wish ghosts and spirits to be real does not make it so. Such things would have to be proven to exist before it is worth speculating over their physical properties.

You're on an Internet forum looking for proof? You're on an Internet forum looking for a piece of evidence that would beyond doubt change your stance? You're going to be waiting a long time. Experiences are normally personal spur of the moment things and anything I presented to you wouldn't be accepted anyway; no eye witness accounts, no video, no photos. Let's not play dumb, we both know that.

Let's try the shoe on the other foot... could you please direct me to an unprecedented amount of claims where spirit activity "knocks over toilet paper"? I'll wait.

'Experiences' are flawed. When conditions such as schizophrenia and Charles Bonnet Syndrome (to give just two examples) have been PROVEN to exist, we KNOW that people can see and hear things that don't exist. Knowing that, what possible reason could there be to elevate someone's personal 'experience' over and above the fact that scientists, spiritualists, laymen, tv show producers et cetera have been unable to prove the existence of ghosts despite trying for hundreds of years?

Why use a type writer or keyboard? What is the intent of that? What is the intent to manipulate any object?

'Why?' is a bloody good question whenever ghostly happenings are being discussed, because there is never a satisfactory answer. Why does my ghost keep turning lights on and off? Why does my ghost stand in the doorway when I'm trying to sleep? The answer from believers is "Ooh, just because. They're so mysterious, we can't understand why!"

Of course, rational answers are 1) You probably have an electrical fault somewhere in your lighting system, and 2) You most likely have a kind of sleep disorder.

Yes ghosts would do trivial stuff because the universe isn't complicated at all.

Most people cannot even comprehend physics and even the expanse of the universe and black holes aren't even fully understood, but ghosts would knock over toilet paper.

Perfectly sensible.

Huh? What does complication of a universe have to do with unknown motives? I am having trouble seeing the logical connection.

Are some objects (toilet paper rolls) not allowed to be manipulated, as it is too mundane or unacceptable an object to move? What objects would be deemed acceptable to manipulate for a theoretical dimension jumping being? Would a candle be okay? A book? Because I can see now that toilet paper rolls are out of the question. Not in this complicated universe.

The answer to your question is yes. They are too mundane when as stated by Brian, why not manipulate keyboards? Or go further and interrupt your television viewing experience?

IMO, when there is such complex structure in the most simple things if you believe that a person leaves this plane of existence and can come all the way back (or what ever you choose to believe about life after death) and they do so just to push your toilet roll...well it's just banal and absurd. Of course it's only what I believe. I like to think logically. If I'm travelling through the universe or space and time or what ever may happen besides the fact I'm probably not concerned with Earth anymore, I'm surely not going to bother with mundane things such as pushing around your loose change or making myself absolutely impossible to catch in a photograph or be unintelligible in an EVP or for Morgan Freeman's sake toss around your loo roll.

But that's just me.

You said research, present it, other wise stop spouting rainbows of nonsense.
