Fluffybunny Posted October 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2004 I thought it was funny that Bush skirted around the question and went into defending the invadion of Iraq. When I was listening, I thought to myself that it was a bit odd to immediately jump on defending Iraq when that was not the question at all. It sounds to me like Bush has a guilty conscience... KANSAS CITY, Missouri (AP) -- Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards mocked President Bush's answer to a debate question, saying Monday the incumbent fails to recognize his mistakes. In an appearance before several thousand cheering people, Edwards, a North Carolina senator, noted the president's vague answer to the last audience question at Friday's debate in St. Louis -- on what specific mistakes Bush believes he made. Edwards said he "listened very careful" but did not hear an answer from the president. "Come November," he said, "we're going to give him plenty of time to think about the mistakes he made." Bush answered the question Friday, in part, by saying "I made some mistakes in appointing people, but I'm not going to name them." (Bush, Kerry bare knuckles in debate) Rich Chrismer, a GOP spokesman in Missouri, responded to Edwards' criticism by saying: "The president answered that question at the debate, and the voters will ultimately decide who they want as their commander in chief based on their record." The president was asked nearly the same question at a prime-time news conference in April, when he similarly averted the inquiry. "I don't want to sound like I have made no mistakes," the president said at the time. "I'm confident I have." A gleaming Edwards took the stage here Monday after an introduction from the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who told the crowd the Democratic ticket "represents morning time in America." "It seems that darkness abounds," Jackson said. "These last four years we've found ourselves less secure after 9/11. We're more despised. We're more isolated. We have less port security, fewer police on the streets and AK-47s made legal again." dev65 Posted October 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2004 It doesnt surprise me that shrub couldnt admit to any mistakes-in his own "divinely guided" mind Im sure he doesnt think he has made any. However nothing can hide the fact that he and his administration have done more damage to this nation in 3 3/4 years than al-qaeda could do to us in 50 years.I am truly ashamed of this group of incompetent thieves and my only hope is that if they do manage to steal another election the American people will not tolerate it. Absolutely they are the most incredible assortment of liars, money-grubbers and morons to have ever been in power in the united states-and that is saying quite a lot competing against the likes of lbj, tricky dick, rotten ronnie reagan,bush1 etc.
Stellar Posted October 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2004 Excuse me, but when does a politician running for office ever admit faults in his plan and in what he did?
