Loch Ness monster expert to reveal findings

You are not reading it properly, it doesn't say "Loch Ness Monster expert"... He's an Expert statistical ecologist....

Which means that in this case he has compiled statistics relating to eyewitness sightings of the Loch Ness monster - none of which are supported by any kind of evidence at all. I must say I don't envy his task.

He might have found it fun doing something "different". lol

Today is the 3000th anniversary of an organized religion which is basically a fairytale for adults, and only now is it dying. Perhaps the Loch Ness myth will die in another 3000 years.

On the other hand, if he proves Nessie exists you're gonna be in deep kimchee! :D

How will doing a statistical analysis of Nessie sightings prove that the monster exists? Thats like doing a statistical analysis of Mother Goose's Fairytales to find out whether Old Mother Hubbard was actually a historical figure. The one doesn't prove the other.

It's like calling oneself a bigfoot "tracker"...huh? what?

Apparently this season of River Monsters on Animal Planet ends with Wade in Loch Ness. Something to do with Nessie, he hinted at.

While I understand the need for a bit of drama and suspense on the show, it is TV, I do trust his findings and biologist common sense.

He says they make an interesting discovery. I know it won't be Nessie, but maybe her documented (real known animal) rather than mythological self? Or, probably something totally unrelated?

Anyway, I'll be watching this season. I like to see where he goes and what he finds.

My guess is that it will be something only loosely related to Nessie thats being used to drum up ratings. Crypto sells in this sector. :) But maybe I'll be proven wrong.

Jeremy Wade has caught just about every kind of fish known to man. If anyone can pull something out of the Ness he can. But I don't see him hooking a pleseosaur.

I agree, he is a biologist and looks for tangible evidence/explanatons for the events he is investigating

But as we've both said, this is TV and some kind of suspense or drama (or "teasing") is expected to hook the viewer for a looksee.

I don't fault him for that. I like the show.

I'm a fan of Jeremy Wade's too - for those same reasons. I'm guessing however that decisions regarding advertising something Nessie-related happen at the network level, where he has likely no control. Pretty much all the networks are the same anymore - they'll whore out their shows in just about any way that will make a buck - even if it tends to undermine the integrity of the show itself.

I agree, just his travels and experiences and freedom to do so. He said he's been doing this 20 years before he got the show.

I've caught smaller sharks and very large stingray shore fishing when younger. Stingray suck down!

So when I watch him (he ain't no spring chicken, which I like too) I can't help it but my back hurts! LOL I've never had any arm strength, though.

All the power to him and we older folk (he's like 56), he still walks upright! :) . :tu:

Hell, I'm 60 and I still walk upright......although, I do need Tylenol from time to time now.

.....and Viagra, but that's to keep something else upright. What?

I meant he still walks upright after catching those big fish for so long (not his age per say)!!!

I just feel it in my back when watching him. He catches such big dawgs.

Did you catch the Fnding Bigfoot episode in Vermont Connecticut and Bobo's comment to Renee in the woods when she tried tree knocking with a stick that disintegrated?

I won't repeat it here.

There was an episode where he was reeling in a 300lb stingray, when the line broke as well as an arm tendon at the same time.

It was a giant freshwater stingray in the Mekong river. It broke his heavy duty carbon fiber pole as well.

A 4 hour struggle, it was a stubborn stingray. It was the pole, thought it was the line.

They can be hard to bring in. My husband caught a lot of them off the coast. I hooked the biggest and had to hand it over to him after a while and then he and another friend took turns

reeling it in. It took a long time as it kept suckering down on the bottom. Plus, it was easily over 3 feet across. When it finally broke the shoreline and we saw it the line broke and off it went.

We were so thrilled to see this huge creature so close up. It was beautiful.

The fiesty 2-4 foot sharks we caught along the same shoreline, were much easier to reel in.
