As much as I hate Walmart, I had to make a quick stop and came unprepared after work. Found out they sell a pound of precooked and seasoned chicken breast and rib meat for $6. That, a container of spring mix and a few ounces of fat free feta cheese and I'm good to go. I carry stone ground mustard, hot sauce and Montreal Steak seasoning in my bag like a dork, but that's all I needed to dress it up.

Had dinner at a friend's house tonight.  She made homemade cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, cinnamon apples for dessert.

popeyes....pfft. i make my own fried chicken.

popeyes came to my town about a year ago, that place is the worst. Cold food, no food, poor service (the staff look like they just rolled out of bed and fight about who puts what in the bag). The place is basically a ghost town with the only "customers" being friends of the workers who sit at the drive thru window talking to the staff.

ill stick to my own home cooking

Took our daughter out for a late birthday dinner tonight.  She chose a local Thai restaurant.  I got satay fried rice (with enough left over for lunch at work tomorrow), and we shared an appetizer of fresh spring rolls.   Yum!

I hear everyone rave about Popeyes but my experience mirrors Overdueleaf. Same with Bojangles. I was born and raised in the South. I know what good fried chicken tastes like and neither one fits the bill.

Never had Popeye's, but I like Zaxby's. Been a long time since I had them though.

I haven't had Popeye's since I lived in Idaho, 26 years ago.   It was good then, haven't tried it since.

Their recipe has changed a bit. Also I remember their Red Beans and Rice being spicy.

American Chop Suey was what I had for supper a couple of hours ago.

But instead of using ground beef, I used ground pork.  It was good.

Since we were busy making stuff, we had sub sandwiches for supper with tortilla chips and fresh salsa.   Fresh fruit for dessert.

Had a fish fry, ribs, chili, baked beans, vegetable pizza, buffalo chicken dip, chips, and all sorts of desserts. tomorrow we were invited down again for a famous breakfast. Not quite sure what makes it so famous, so i will let you know.
