It's like we never got past being cavemen huddling by the fire for protection. Wondering what was about to come out of the dark.....

the real irony there was the date it was published: a very appropriate time to be envisaging apocalyptic scenarios, perhaps.

Thank you for that link. Some of the inventions in that issue are still being used today, in one form or another. The little gadgets to prevent lines and wrinkles are now called "frownies" and are for sale in magazines even now. I think that's cool. As for the end of the world, I'm not worried about it. We will all probably die at the same time, if we are still alive when that time comes.
