Moon Gazer Posted April 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2013 My hubby sent me this link. I thought it was pretty cool to see these so thought I would share. http://myscienceacademy.org/2013/04/14/the-33-most-beautiful-abandoned-places-in-the-world/
Keel M. Posted April 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2013 I think these places are only made beautiful with the right lighting and camera filters. Nothing wrong with that, though. For some, like #22, it's good they are abandoned. For most, though, I'd dearly love to know why they were abandoned. They just look so sad. Frank Merton Posted April 15, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2013 The German fishing hut looks like a perfect place to spend an afternoon, and I don't fish.
Fstop Posted April 15, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2013 I love photographing the insides and outsides of abandoned places. These are great photos.
acute Posted April 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Beautiful pictures! Thank you for posting. Just for information's sake.... The Christ of the Abyss statue was not really 'abandoned'. It was cast to be submerged, along with some others around the world cast from the same mould. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christ_of_the_Abyss

xYlvax Posted April 15, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 15, 2013 Beautiful pictures, Sweetpumper. There is something hauntingly attractive about deserted places.. You just want to know how it was for those that were there before.

Sweetpumper Posted April 16, 2013 #15 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Sweetpumper, thanks for sharing your pics, they are amazing! What is the atmosphere like there? Looks so tranquil. It really is. All the tour boats are electric as not to pollute the lake. The water was calmer than I've ever seen in a lake that size. The forest is exactly how I would imagine it in a fairy tale.
Commander CMG Posted April 16, 2013 #16 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Ive seen a few of these on other news reports, the Bulgarian communist building looks like something from the XFiles. I could definitely spend some time in the German fishing hut.. Each and everyone of those buildings must have some great stories to tell. Thanks for sharing.
