Esoteric Toad Posted April 18, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Apparently Fox has dropped the story for now. I couldn't find anything that went into detail yet...too soon. Here's the local news link http://www.wacotrib.com/

Raptor Witness Posted April 18, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 18, 2013 (edited) Interesting timing, given the Waco Massacre's 20th anniversary is April 19th. The decision to burn them out, likely took place a day or two before, so this event may fall on the actual anniversary of that decision. The Waco siege lasted for fifty days. Kind of spooky ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3iL2EhVsTs Edited April 18, 2013 by Raptor Witness
Kazahel Posted April 18, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Interesting. I had a dream last night about a toxic plant too. I even said to a person "Ah so you're a Texan hey".

Space Commander Travis Posted April 18, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Might it be convenient to merge this with this http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=246437 ? And yup, sure enough, as I speculated, it hasn't taken long for the Conspiracy industry to crank into action, considering where it was.
Zaphod222 Posted April 18, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2013 It is a friggin fertilizer factory. Explosions happen! If the conspiracy nuts try to turn this into another nefarious "operation false flag" or whatever nonsense, they are really outdoing themselves.

Kowalski Posted April 18, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 18, 2013 It is a friggin fertilizer factory. Explosions happen! Yep. Probably just an accident.
Jeremiah65 Posted April 18, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Coincidence almost always leads to speculation. I'm not surprised many folks have "conspiracy theories" about the events of the last few days when you look at the dates of previous tragedies. Pretty sad events....
Taun Posted April 18, 2013 #12 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Apparently, (and no I do not have a link) this chemical plant was cited a few years ago for safety violations... So it is certainly more likely (IMO) that this was a tragic (but preventable) accident.
Dark_Grey Posted April 18, 2013 #13 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Can't think of many agendas you can push based on a fertilizer plant exploding... This is a tragic accident
Ashotep Posted April 18, 2013 #14 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Actually it happened in West Texas a town near Waco. What a horrible accident and so many dead. I wish all the injured a speedy recovery and the family of the dead my deepest condolences. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/04/18/60-70-dead-and-hundreds-injured-in-fertilizer-plant-explosion-near-waco-texas-local-media/
keithisco Posted April 18, 2013 #15 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Hopefully just a terrible and tragic accident. During the Plants Safety Audit they considered the only likely accident ("very remote") would be a slight leakage of ammonia into the atmosphere without any effects on the local population or workers. Hmmm - from the BBC: Anhydrous ammonia Commonly used as fertiliser, injected into the soil Must be stored in high pressure tanks Produces poisonous vapour cloud on exposure to water Forms explosive mixture when combined with air Can cause severe burns to skin in concentrated form Link to BBC Article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22195495

That's uncharactreristic behavior from small town people - not because they are inherently better than their urban cousins, but because everyone knows everyone else and suddenly gaining a 'big screen TV' would not go unnoticed...

Well, when we had all those wildfires here in Texas, we didn't have any looters in MY area, but in one of the bigger towns, Bastrop, they experienced looting pretty bad. Disasters always bring out the best in people, huh? Edited April 18, 2013 by Kowalski

Ashotep Posted April 18, 2013 #20 Share Posted April 18, 2013 At first they were saying 60 to 70 people had been killed but that number has dropped to 5 to 15. http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/04/18/texas-fertilizer-blast-leaves-5-15-dead-outside-of-waco/
Corp Posted April 18, 2013 #21 Share Posted April 18, 2013 Seems they're treating this as a crime scene, though sounds like it might have been an accident. Could have been a lot worst though as many of the nearby buildings were closed or had already been cleared out due to the fire. Though given how close residential buildings were to this factory I think there needs to be a very serious look at zoning laws.
Regi Posted April 18, 2013 #22 Share Posted April 18, 2013 I started to research this type of disaster, and there's plenty that I'd never heard of. I think that's pretty normal in case there might be negiligence involved. labeling it a Crime scene gives the Law enforcement freedom to go over it as much as they like, after all. Kowalski Posted April 19, 2013 #24 Share Posted April 19, 2013 This just in: http://www.infowars.com/before-the-blast-west-fertilizers-monsanto-lawsuit/ Before the Blast, West Fertilizer’s Monsanto Lawsuit As details emerge about the Texas fertilizer plant that was the site of Wednesday’s fatal explosion and fire, a few tidbits can be gleaned from a 2007 lawsuit that the plant’s owners filed against agribusiness giant Monsanto Co. The suit, filed as a potential class action in U.S. District Court for the western district of Texas, claimed that Monsanto had artificially inflated prices for its herbicide Roundup through anti-competitive actions. The suit did not relate to storing fertilizer, believed to be at the root of Wednesday’s blast. The suit was filed by Texas Grain Storage Inc. The company now calls itself West Fertilizer Co. In the suit, the company said that it was started in 1957 as a grain-storage business by the Plasek family in the town of West, Texas. It later built a small fertilizer-blend plant and started selling fertilizer to area farmers. More information can be found here: http://blogs.wsj.com/corporate-intelligence/2013/04/18/before-the-blast-west-fertilizers-monsanto-lawsuit/ This is interesting...

The odds were far greater against this happening, when it did, where it did, and how it did.If the fire wasn't intentional, I wouldn't ignore it. Some things are too obvious to be a conspiracy.
