What they are teaching in your kids in SC

You just can't have evolution without atheism.

Any theists here have a problem with this statement?

There are many serious objections to the theory of evolution that completely disproves it, however due to mankind's new found anti-supernatural bias, it's all ruled out despite all of the obvious objections to the theory.

There are objections, but I wouldn't call one of them serious. And they've all been addressed a gazillion times. Creationists ignore this due their long-standing religious bias. Evolution is ruled out despite the masses of evidence that converges on it.

Ted Turner graduated from one of our most prestigious Christian schools and he is still one of it's biggest contributors. I don't think anyone can say he hasn't integrated very well, unless you wouldn't want to be married to Jane Fonda and have billions of dollars. :w00t:

Ok, Ted Turner is one success story, but what happens when you figure up the percentage of successfull people that graduate from Christian Schools vs the percentage of Successfull people that graduated from a school that teaches real science?

I really only know about adventist schools, which my wife attended in the past and which some of her family members also attended in more recent times. These are fully accreditied schools, colleges and universities, including loma linda in the usa.

Adventists are creationist believers and i assume creationism is taught in their schools. It certainly was in the past but they also give a very high standard of educaiton all around the world, and graduates are succesfull in all spheres of life includng medicine and science. I assume they separate out science from belief. In australia religious based schools (most of which are not creation based) consistently have the top ranking graduates in the country and provide the leaders of the country in business sport and politics

In america, Loma linda university is in the top 15 universities in america for results for students from minority groups, and has students from over 80 nations and most american states. Its medical centre also ranks very high.

Loma Linda University scored high on the national list of “Top 100 Degree Producers,” which lists institutions by the number of degrees conferred to minority students.

The annual rankings were released in the June 9, 2011, issue of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

Nationwide, Loma Linda University places among the top 15 institutions in the master’s, doctorate, and first professional degree categories. To determine an institution’s standing, the magazine uses the most recent data (from 2009-2010) reported by each institution.

since when did atheistic darwinism become the neutrality?

Public schools ask that religion be left out of the classroom, and yet in it's place it inserts atheism. You just can't have evolution without atheism. Sure, you could explain the beginning of the universe as starting with God perhaps, however it would only be a cruel, impersonal, useless God that would do that.

There are many serious objections to the theory of evolution that completely disproves it, however due to mankind's new found anti-supernatural bias, it's all ruled out despite all of the obvious objections to the theory. It can't be questioned no matter how much evidence, 'It just simply must be so!' Everything else is just slapped the 'religon' label (which btw is dogmatically dismissed as false simply on those grounds which is ludacris) while the state continues enforcing their atheism.

I may not agree with enforcing Christianity in the public schools, nor more than I agree with enforcing atheism. But to willingly twist and ignore and silence the totality of the evidence just to simply inforce their 'belief' is just simply rediculous.

Here is a new word for you, secularism. Modern science is secular.

It's obvious you've got a problem with science and naturalistic explanations, so please find out what science is before going on an ignorant anti-evolution rant.

BTW Cosmology studies the origins of the universe, not biology.

I think I've already explained to you that they do teach real science. These private Christian schools are the Yale and Harvard of early education. The people that graduate from these schools are the creme de la creme. Not only do they get the best education, they make the business contacts they need to prosper in a highly compettitive world. How they choose to use those advantages are up to them, but the majority of them go on to make great livings.

People don't line up to get their kids in them for a Christian education, but for the best education available.

Yes, they're expensive.

Great, they do well in business. Many poorly educated men have become successful businessmen. It doesn't take brains. How many scientists have these schools produced?

Remember that scientists are the people who designed rockets and satellites which made cable television possible. If they hadn't gotten good educations, Ted Turner would just be an owner of an Atlanta UHF television station. It also helped that Turner was born in a wealthy family and nearly ran his father's billboard business into the ground, a business which he had inherited of course. So much for education!

Look, I'm not trying to pick on you or any one that went to a Christian School, but you did make some pretty bold claims about how amazing Christian school education is and how they produce the worlds smartest people....

Ok, now show us the Evidense..

This is scientific method. You present your hypothesis, then present Evidense to proove it...

I did some research and found that people who have succeeded in scientific fields have rarely gone to private Christian high schools. Sometimes students from these schools have difficulty in scientific subjects in college. I will never forget the questions asked by baffled freshmen in Geology 101 when the professor spoke of things being millions of years old. They were taught such things couldn't exist.

That was thirty years ago. I thought things had improved since then until I read the Gallup poll that showed nearly half of Americans still believe the Earth is less than 10,000 years old. This is a far larger percentage than in any European country.

The oddest thing is that the rules change in private Christian colleges and universities. Nearly all of them suddenly admit to their students that the Earth and the universe are billions of years old. I don't understand this. One explanation is that any college that teaches Young Earth Creationism would be considered an academic joke so they have to protect their reputation by teaching "wrong" things. Another guess is that Christians feel knowledge and evidence that contradicts Biblical Creation must have some kind of pornographic quality, so their children should be protected from it until they're old enough to evaluate it.

I think your last point is the closest, although a bit cynical. Adults discriminate between elements of their life, where children find this difficult. So an adult can believe in creationism, yet be a professor in evolutionary studies in a university if they want to be, just by achieving the academic credentials to do so. It is just how humans are. Lots of educated people know the science and history of evolution, but still believe in other sometimes contradictory things.

I am an evolutionist but i could be professor of creationist history if that as a career path I had chosen. I could certainly get a job as a teacher at any bible based school in australia if that was what i wanted, despite being a non creationist. Id just have to lie a little about my beliefs but i could answer any technical questions they might have and provide an accetable background to qualify..

While I am a evolutionist, I was taught a lot of bull**** economics, politics, psychology and philosophy, at university during the seventies, because it was politically "flavour of the month." I got distinctions in my studies, but i didn't believe half the left wing stuff they were teaching.

There is no doubt private Christian schools have a far better education than public schools. Parents start prepairing their children and their resumes from the time they are born. That hadn't even accured to me until our neighbor was telling me she had already put her child on waiting lists, starting with preschool, at only a few months old. Parents are very competitive when it comes to getting their children in these schools and they don't accept just anyone. These kids have very high standards they have to live up to and have to have/keep a certain grade point average. There are too many children on waiting lists to take advantage of a better education to have others simply taking up space.

For the most part I think homeschooling is wonderful. Personally, all of the kids I know who were had a fantastic education and are very well rounded. I have heard of a few people who homeschool that worry me a great deal. Not everyone can be a good teacher or have the character, stability and education needed. I think those children should have exposure to more adults and not hear everything from one side.

It sounds like you have everything needed to successfully homeschool. The best of luck to you! :tu:

Some private christian schools are better than public schools and some are worse. Usually secular private schools are the best.

90% of the top high 100 schools in the US are secular not christian. A secular private school is the best education money can buy.

I have known a many theists who see evolution as part of God. Whether or not there is a god is irrelevant to science. God can not be proved or disproved. Science only deals with what can be proved. Evolution is everywhere, you have to be blind not to see it. Ask my dog and cat, they will tell you those darn fleas have evolved and stuff I put on them isn't working. That is evolution. Darn bugs just keep updating like Adobe flash.

Yes, it is. And of course they are going to have religious classes. They usually teach about other religions also, to be better informed of the world around them.

Went to private christian schools and they did teach about other religions but they also said they were wrong and that christianity was the only true way.

They will either tell you that humans are not part of Evolution (the Bible says God made them) or they will make endless interpretations of what Genesis "really" is saying.

Not all, some will say, evolution is the process by which their god created life. Of course you have to understand what allegory is and how it pertains to the Bible. God or no god is a subject for philosophy class not in science class.

There is no way i'm buying into this being an actual handout in a public school.

I cant even see a Christian school handing this out. This looks more like a quiz from a sunday school class at a church. (even then, it would be one strict interpretating church)

And for the record, most Christians dont buy into the whole 6000 year old world theory nonsense, that was one persons interpretation that one sect ran with and now every christian in the world is saddled with that label.

As if the south doesn't have enough trouble getting past it's nasty stereotypes of being a bunch of bible thumping, under educated, intolerant, inbread morons this has to happen...

Thoughts?

Wow, thanks for posting this.

Whenmy child was in the fifth grade, for five days, my child's class went to dubious program called StarBase at a local military base. To register for this, the parents had to fill out two full pages of personal information, which even included health insurance policy numbers. I was alarmed by this, burned the registration and said my child could not go to this, if the child was not being graded on it, which the child wasn't. Then I started looking into the StarBase program. ON the star base website, there will links available for further explanations. When I clicked on those links, it went to a page that did not exist. This alarmed me as well. So I emailed the military people running this, all four email addresses for this state. Of the four emails, I recieved no response whatsoever. I took this to mean that the military was up to something that if known, if parents were more informed about it, would NOT allow their children to go. Needless to say, my child did not go to this military propaganda program, their ultimate agenda thing. Once other parents saw that I wasn't not allowing my child to go, they started stopping their permission for their child to go to it.

And after this program, my child's math teacher was striken with something no one is willing to talk about. This teacher, who went to this program with the chilren, missed about 3 months of school.

Not long ago, retired military officers, including military general, having formed some group, isues a statement that they were concerned about childhood obesity and school lunches. I wrote them back telling them how disgusted I was with the huge lack of morality of military officers. Not long after that, Petreaus resigned. Of course, I received no response from the retired generals as well. Guess they don't think they have to answer to The People. Guess they just want to kill off our sons and daughters after a fourth of their lifetime of love for military agendas led by corporations and greed, ... andnot for the defense of this nation and/or the US Constitution.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with supporting the troops. This is a direct comment on the people who run the military.

I support my troops by talking anyone who wants to "join up" out of joining up.

What is happening in public schools is just absolutely atrocious.

To be fair what Christian schools are you talking about specifically? Because the best schools tend to be secular, often public. Michelle, it is the grades a child gets and that they can show they have met certain graduating standards, to go to a four year college one must meet Math and Science requirements to even get in. It's all about the GPA!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that at worst this will be a Sunday School thing. Most likely not a school test and definitely not a public school test.

However, in the absence of any actual facts outside a photo on Facebook, I'm going to vote this as a hoax.

Snopes has updated the page. The claim has been verified as true - Ken Ham (Answers in Genesis, Creationist Museum founder) has gone on the record as saying he works for that school and the quiz is based on a DVD he sent them - Answers-in-Genesis blog/article link! Remember folks, the atheists want your children

In a way, what is happening to this Christian school and also to the Romeike family should be a warning to all Christians: the atheists want your children. They are aggressively trying to demonize and marginalize Christians in their attempts to recruit your children for atheism or secularism.

Though we praise God for the minority of Christian “missionaries” who work as teachers in the public school system (and who need our prayers), government schools have increasingly become, in essence, churches of atheism. We are aware that the overwhelming majority of children raised in the church attend public schools, and thus it should not be surprising that with all the secularist indoctrination in schools, about two-thirds of our young people brought up in church are walking away from it by the time they reach college age.
