Some people around here seem to argue that McClelland is a reliable insider whistle-blower about NASA UFOs.

Vague and somewhat rambling at times,seems to me like the obsessive rantings of bitter and twisted old man.Couldn`t even describe the alleged 9 ft alien he supposedly saw in the shuttle cargo bay.Kind of sad really for an ex Nasa employee to end up in this way.

Sad for anyone to end up this way. But McClelland never worked directly for NASA, he had a series of subcontrator technical jobs for military missile programs over the years, and some NASA projects, too [mostly pad construction]. The rest of his claims about top-level friends whispering UFO secrets to him, are probably imaginary from the start. His best chance, in 1992, was getting a contractor slot working in shuttle processing [the photo he shows has him with a 'visitor' badge on]. But apparently he blew that with unverifiable claims on his job application and security background check data. Truly sad.

I'm only about 20 minutes in, but listening to the man speak is chilling. It's frightening to think how a person's mind can go so tragically wrong.

Okay, I just finished hearing it all and I have to say that I found it disturbing. I don't know if it's because of the pain he's dealing with, or if he's always been that way, but the man is filled with hatred towards just about everything and everyone. It's also apparent that he believes in what he says. This is sad indeed.

Claims he was 'Technical Assistent to the Apollo Program Manager'. Recall he didn't even have a college degree at that point.

"I was an Office of Naval Intelligence officer at Cape Canaveral" -- no record he ever was in the US Navy, much less an officer, much less associated with ONI.

"I was with NASA from 1958 to 1992". So what does the word 'with' mean? He never was a NASA employee, but a lot of his contractor employment did work on NASA-funded projects.

Astronauts: "They told me what they saw out there." No records he ever knew any of the astronauts he lists as "close friends".

So he did work directly for NASA at some point? But regardless of whether he was an employee of NASA or an employee of the subcontractor, he did do works for NASA and was there "in the room", or did have access to NASA facility rather than working in a building outside of NASA facilities?

This is also from the link above: Kollosch remembers that Clark McClelland was outgoing and well-liked. "Everybody knew him. He even got to know the Mercury astronauts when we were working on Pershing [missile program]. When he was with Boeing, ... he was in with the Apollo astronauts... I don't know of anyone who didn't like him," Kollosch told CNI News.

So he does have access to the astronauts as he claimed, then?

Yes the guy does sound crazy, but I guess a lot of people would go crazy when nobody believe you. I guess he wasn't always this insane is my point.

A lot of people also go crazy when their lives talk several bad turns as his seems to have. I agree he was probably "with NASA" at some point, and probably a very likeable, normal guy..

As for the rest of it, it's far more likely he has unfulfilled dreams of a high level top-secret career with NASA where he had important jobs and went drinking with his best buddy astronauts after work. He's probably shifting the blame of losing his contractor positions with NASA, his wife leaving and having no money to the vast conspiracy against him (gov't, NASA, Jews, 8ft tall aliens, Lucifer etc), and filling in the rest of the story with the delusions of grandeur that built up in his bitter mind over the years.

BTW sorry for the late reply, I just heard this interview streaming online last night and had to look for more info on this character.
