I like some of the mainstream choices above like Heart and Grace Slick. I like some Garbage tracks too.

But Agent Ribbons needs the publicity, even if they are more alternative pop than rock.

Chrissie Hynde comes to mind. Pat Benatar does too. Kate Bush and Annie Lennox are great singers, although they're not really in the rock genre. Did anybody mention Stevie Nicks?
