that stars album was great though. kind of a perfect portrayal of self-obsessed couples who should not be together at all

There are different genres of indie music, So yes, it is hard to categorise, It doesn't necessarily have to be taken literally as music performed/ recorded by an artist not signed to a major record label, To me its any band that play their own instruments and write their own songs and are not one direction etc clones, I am a fan of indie music But I don't necessarily like every song of that genre that is released.
